Course Description
Comparative Civil Law
The subject of “Comparative Civil Law” science and training course consist of theoretical and practical questions of regulation of the system of civil law relations in Ukraine as well as in continental and common law countries.
Aim of discipline is to provide students with knowledge on main civil law notions and categories, on its history and basic institutes on comparative base, as well as to provide students with skills to work with legal documents of civil law sphere.
Task of discipline is to develop practical skills of students to use theoretical knowledge concerning sources, subjects of civil law, property law, intellectual property rights, law of obligation, family and inheritance law, as well as to provide students with skills to solve a civil law disputes according to the law of different countries.
Private International Law
The subject of “Private international law” science and training course consist of theoretical and practical questions of regulation of private law relations with foreign element (namely, conflicts of laws, unification of private law material norms, international civil procedure et.).
Aim of discipline is to provide students with knowledge on main private international law notions and categories, on its history and basic institutes, as well as, to provide students with skills to work with legal documents of private international law sphere.
Task of discipline is to develop practical skills of students to use theoretical knowledge concerning sources, subjects of private international law, international property law, international law of intellectual property, international law of obligation, international family and labor law, solving of private law disputes with foreign element.
Comparative Civil Process
Aim of discipline is to acquaint students with Civil Procedural Law of Ukraine, the practice of its implementation and also with civil litigation in some foreign states.
Task of discipline is to give knowledge about the fundamental institutes of civil procedural law of Ukraine and of some foreign states; to develop practical skills of students for analysis and decision of civil procedural issues.
During the study of course students get knowledge that use in their professional legal practice – decision of practical legal questions, preparation of procedural documents, analysis and application of civil procedural law.
International Securities Law
The main task of this course is to give basic provisions of existing Ukrainian legislation and securities regulation standards in Europe and the World. The course consists of two modules: first is devoted to securities and other financial instruments as legal categories, and during the second module the students will consider peculiarities of negotiable instruments circulation on stack market.
Private Legal Practice
Aim of the discipline is to acquaint students with particularities of the private legal practice on behalf and in interests of a client.
Task of the discipline is to develop practical skills which are necessary for private legal practice, including in the process of the law firm building or functioning.
During study of the course students gain knowledge to be applicable in case a student decides to set up the legal business and to be engaged in either as a sole practitioner or in the law firm with other partners.
Legal Regulation of the Foreign Economy activity
Aim of the discipline is to acquaint students with basics of drafting the different types of foreign economic agreements.
Task of the discipline is to develop practical skills of students of law which are necessary for further job in companies or law firms specialized in the area of legal regulation of the foreign economic activities.
During the study of course students get knowledge which is applicable in case a student decides to work as a practicing lawyer in a company or law firm which specializes in providing services in the scope of legal regulation of the foreign economic activities.
Insolvency (Bankruptcy) and Foreign Economic Activity
During that part of this course that devoted to bankruptcy the students will learn peculiarities of recognition of the debtor insolvent or bankrupt. The course is presented in comparative manner that gives an opportunity to analyze these mechanisms comprised by this sphere of legislation in its world development. The students will specifically consider international documents, among which EU Regulation 1346/2000 and UNCITRAL Model Law of 1997 are the most important.
Legal Profession in Ukraine and other National Legal Systems
Aim of the discipline is to acquaint students with particularities of the legal profession in Ukraine, the United States, France, Great Britain, Germany and other countries.
Task of the discipline is to develop practical skills which are necessary for lawyers with purpose of preparing for exams and obtaining a certificate of attorney as well as for attorney’s practice.
During study of the course students gain knowledge to be applicable in case a student decides to become the attorney at law in Ukraine using the best inherent features of the legal profession in different countries over the world.
International Monetary and Trade Law
The purpose of this discipline to understand a concept of international monetary and trade law, its functions, principles, features and characteristics, legal regulation of international trade and monetary relations.
A student must know: a concept of international trade and economic relations, a system of international trade and monetary relations, especially international trade and economic relations of the present day, international sales law, commercial terms (INCOTERMS), sales agent and distributorship agreement, documentary letter of credit, collection, international electronic commerce, regulation of international carriages, the basic conception of international monetary relations, monetary law, «currency securities", "currency operations", current transactions, capital movement , residents, non-residents.
International Protection of Industrial Property
The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with basic theoretical knowledge in the field of international protection of industrial property, in particular, to acquaint them with current legislation of Ukraine and international agreements, case law.
A student should know: the basic conception of industrial property, patent law, trademarks, appellation of origin of goods, know-how. Students should also know and understand the basic provision of international protection of industrial property.
International Commercial Arbitration
Aim of discipline is to acquaint students with the concepts of the arbitration agreement and the arbitration clause of the procedure for settling disputes arbitration courts, arbitration types - institutional and ad hoc, arbitration procedures and the procedure of recognition and enforcement arbitral awards.
Task of discipline is to develop practical skills of students to use it in represent clients in international commercial and investment arbitration, skills of writing relevant documents, understanding the election procedures of arbitration and arbitrators, involving witnesses and experts in the process and procedure for recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards.
Insolvency (Bankruptcy)
The main goal of this course to give the students knowledge on how to apply the norms of this sphere of legislation and prepare them to practical work. This course is naturally divided in two parts that comprise modules: natrail norms and procedural rules and procedures. A professor identify the main task: to give the students the basics and fundamentals of insolvency/bankruptcy legislation , that’s why they will know how relations regarding recognition of the person insolvent should be regulated disregard of the state.
International Family Law
Aim of discipline is to acquaint the students with the features of the legal regulation of family relations with foreign element.
Task of discipline is to develop knowledge and practical abilities in relation to the legal regulation of family relations with foreign element.
During the study of course students get knowledge which use in carrying out different types of law application activities in the field of legal regulation of family relations with a foreign element.
International Trade Law
Aim of discipline is to acquaint students with the concept of the contract of international sale of goods, duties and responsibilities of the parties in the contract of international sale, the notion of foreign trade, public policy in the field of international trade, foreign trade order of consideration of disputes by judicial authorities.
Task of discipline is to develop practical abilities contracts of international sale of goods, the amount of understanding of the rights and obligations of the parties in international contract of sale, the application of international treaties that regulate commercial activity.
International Monetary Law
The purpose of the course:
The purpose of this course is to understand the concept of international monetary law, its functions, principles, features and characteristics.
Training requirements:
A student should know: the basic conception of international monetary relations, finance law, monetary law, «currency securities", "currency operations", current transactions, capital movement, residents, and non-residents.
The student must be able: to report about the international monetary regulation and currency regulation and currency control in Ukraine.
International Civil Process
Aim of discipline is to give students systemic knowledge and practical skills that are necessary for preparation and participation in civil process on private cases with foreign element and that fall under the jurisdiction of two or more states.
Task of discipline is to provide students with knowledge on main basic institutes of International Civil Process and with skills to work with the internal legal acts of Ukraine, bilateral and multilateral international agreements in the sphere of civil process.
During the study of course students get knowledge that use in their professional legal practice – decision of practical legal questions, preparation of procedural documents, analysis and application of civil procedural law.
History of Private International Law
Aim of discipline is to acquaint students with the knowledge in the area of history of origin and development of Private International Law, evolution of the science of Private International Law, its schools and directions.
Task of discipline is to develop analytical skills of students to understand the evolution of the science of Private International Law, its schools and directions, to acquaint with the historical works of the prominent representatives of the Private International Law doctrine of Ukraine and foreign countries, to understand the peculiarities of the genesis of the key concepts and categories of the Private International Law doctrine.
International Copyright Law
The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with basic theoretical knowledge in the field of international protection of Copyright, in particular, to acquaint them with current legislation of Ukraine and international agreements, case law.
A student should know: the basic conception of Copyright, patent law, trademarks, appellation of origin of goods, know-how. Students should also know and understand the basic provision of international protection of Copyright.
The student must be able: to understand the principles of international protection of Copyright, apply the legislation of Ukraine and basic international treaties in this field.
Comparative Competition Law
Aim of the discipline is to acquaint students with particularities of the current comparative competition law in Ukraine and other countries as well as its application in the scope of the business activity and international trade.
Task of discipline is to develop practical skills of students of law on the further application of the competition law in the business activity of a company as well as in the course of services provision by a law firm.
During the study of course students get knowledge which is applicable in case a student decides to work as a practicing lawyer in a company or law firm which specializes in providing services in the scope of legal regulation of the foreign economy activities.

The purpose of discipline - provide students with basic theoretical knowledge in the field of international protection of intellectual property, in particular, to acquaint them with current legislation of Ukraine and international agreements, case law.
A student should know: the basic conception of intellectual property, copyrights, related rights, patent law, trademarks, appellation of origin of goods, know-how. Students should also know and understand the basic provision of international protection of intellectual property.
The student must be able: to understand the principles of international protection of intellectual property, apply the legislation of Ukraine.
Cross-border Insolvency
The goal of this course is to provide the students with knowledge and practices to use legal categories and key definitions, get acknowledge with Ukrainian legislation in this important sphere of regulation, train using legislation and apply the norms of laws in this area correctly. Within this course the students will get acquainted with existing laws in this sphere of regulation in other countries and main tendencies of theory developments and court practice.
