«It is easy and pleasant to master the profession of a translator» (Pavel Palazhchenko during his talk at IIR, May 18, 2013)

The optional course in translation «Aurora Musis Amica» ("the early bird", in a rather free translation) is offered for the undergraduates and/or graduates following their academic casting. An extensive drilling is meant to help students sharpen their skills in interpretation within the English-Ukrainian and Russian-English language pairs. The elective offers diverse didactic and polythematic material and exercises, including back translation, translation dictations, interpretation of political discourse, etc. The pièce de résistance of our project is translation of the debates in British Parliament.

The very the fact that classes start at 7 a.m. implies a commitment and desire of future translators to master this incredibly interesting and asked-for, and at the same time, a difficult and demanding profession that combines natural ability with hard work and philological passion with unceasing self-education.

The authors of this elective – O.M.Gon, V.P.Morozov, and T.M.Klymuk – invite self-motivated and talented (under)graduates to join classes which are held during this year in the Multimedia Lounge at the Department of Foreign Languages (Room 403) from 7.00 to 7.55.(Thuesday)
