The formation of the team of the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv to participate in the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition (international competition in WTO law) in the 2021/22 academic year begins.
These competitions are among the most prestigious competitions in international law in the world. Participation in these international competitions allows students to significantly increase their level of professional training, meet with world-class lawyers and their future colleagues from many countries, improve teamwork skills.
The IIR team was first established in 2005 and was the first WTO law team in Ukraine. Since its inception, the IIR team has received the right to participate in the international round more than ten times.
The competition is held in the form of modeling a meeting of a group of experts in the WTO dispute settlement procedure. Team members act on behalf of the complainant or respondent. The working language of the competition is English.
In total, more than 30 students have taken part in the WTO Institute of International Relations team over the years. Former members of the team of the Institute of International Relations of different years successfully apply the acquired knowledge in practice, and some of them not only defended their dissertations on international law, but also work as teachers at the Department of International Law.
