This competition is among the most prestigious International Law competitions in the world. WTO Director General Roberto Azevedo expressed his personal support for the competition.

Participation in these international competitions enables students to significantly improve their professional training, meet with world-class lawyers and their future counterparts from many countries, and improve teamwork skills.

The competitions take the form of a simulation of a panel meeting within the WTO dispute settlement procedure. Team members act on behalf of the complainant or respondent. The working language of the competition is English.

The IIR WTO Team was established in 2005. It was the first WTO law team in Ukraine. Since then, the team has been eligible for the international round of competitions for eleven times. In total, over the fourteen years that the IIR WTO Team exists, some 30 students have become particip.
