ReNew & ReBuild Conference
The ReNew & ReBuild conference was held on 17 April 2024 in Kyiv, at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Institute of International Relations. Its main goal is to bring together all parties involved in the reconstruction of damaged and destroyed civilian homes, land and property (HLP), as well as the public infrastructure necessary to serve them.
The conference will be followed by an update on the best practices of HLP in international transitional justice and how they can be applied in Ukraine.
This event will offer new ideas and approaches to financing recovery, and discuss concrete mechanisms for sustainable, inclusive and transparent recovery in Ukraine. In order to align the needs of Ukrainian civil society with the management and distribution of this funding, it will bring together Ukrainian and other international participants representing governments, civil society, cities, philanthropic organisations and the private sector. They will review and discuss international legal precedents and the efforts of Western governments to provide funding in the form of aid.
