Conference "School of Diplomacy, International Relations, Law and Economics: From Traditions to Modernity — for Ukraine and the World"

On 22 October 2025, the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv hosted a conference entitled "School of Diplomacy, International Relations, Law and Economics: From Traditions to Modernity — for Ukraine and the World."

"Those who respect the past and care about the present create a dignified future. We preserve traditions and build the future together," said Valery Kopiika.

The institute brought together several generations of international relations specialists — there were many smiles, sincere memories and jokes about student years at the Institute. The warm atmosphere, shared stories and pride in their alma mater created a real sense of family.

The event was attended by leading Ukrainian and foreign diplomats, scholars and experts who have made a significant contribution to the development of the Ukrainian school of international relations.

Participants discussed the main stages of the Institute's formation and development, noting the significant contribution of its first deans — Hlib Tsvetkov, Anatoliy Chukhn, Kostyantyn Zabigailo, Anton Filipenko, Volodymyr Butkevych and Leonid Hubersky.

Professor Volodymyr Manzhol recalled with particular gratitude the so-called "Glibivska atmosphere" — the spirit of unity, mutual respect and family warmth that prevailed among students and teachers of the faculty and is still preserved at the Institute today.

The Institute of International Relations is the heart of modern Ukrainian diplomacy. We preserve the continuity of traditions — from princely and Cossack diplomacy to the civil service of the 21st century — by training a new generation of specialists who represent Ukraine with dignity on the international stage.
