The delegation of students took part in a rich international educational program in Frankfurt, Paris, Luxembourg and Brussels

From January 6 to 14, 2024, a large delegation of students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (IIR) took part in an international educational program on European studies, translation practice and parliamentarism, organized by the French NGO "Ukraine in Europe." The main goals of this study tour were to get acquainted with the work of the institutions of the European Union, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), UNESCO, the German federal bank, and the parliamentary system of France, as well as the activities of the Ukrainian Embassy in France. For five working days, students of IIR visited as many as twelve institutions.
On January 8, 2024, in Frankfurt, students of IIR, in particular, in the specialities of IER and IB, had the opportunity to visit the European Central Bank, listen to a lecture on the work of the Deutsche Bundesbank and the European system of central banks and visit the Museum of Money of the German Federal Bank.

On January 9, 2024, Ukrainian students spent a busy day in Paris with a visit to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the National Assembly and the French Senate. In the OECD, established after World War II and now comprising 38 member states, IIR students attended a lecture by Mr. William Thompson, Head of Eurasia Department, global relations and cooperation on the main activities of the OECD and the prospects for Ukraine's accession to thisorganization. After lunch, Ukrainian students visited the lower house of the French parliament - the National Assembly, where they listened to a lecture by the chairman of the parliamentary committee on foreign relations, Mr. Jean-Louis Berlange. Mr. Berlange answered numerous questions and assured of France's unwavering support for Ukraine in political, military and European integration dimensions. At the same time, some students of the IC specialty visited the Senate of the French Republic. This study visit took place at the invitation of Senator Nadezhda Sologub, co-chairman of the inter-parliamentary friendship group "France - Ukraine" of the French Senate. Ukrainian students had the opportunity to visit the Senate Hall and take an interesting tour of the Luxembourg Palace, get acquainted with the history and modern functioning of the upper house of the French parliament.

On January 10, 2023, some students had the opportunity to visit the historical buildings of the administration of the Sorbonne University, accompanied by Mr. Antoine Godbert, head of the Department for International and European Relations and Cooperation of the Academy of Paris.
On January 11, 2024, Ukrainian students visited UNESCO, where they got acquainted with the work of this international organization and the works of art that are on its territory. Also on January 11, future Ukrainian diplomats visited the cultural center of the Embassy of Ukraine in France, where they met with Mr. Ambassador of Ukraine to France Vadim Omelchenko and more than ten embassy employees. Students of IIR had a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the current state of relations between Ukraine and France, the efforts of Ukrainian diplomats to strengthen assistance to Ukraine in war conditions, practical aspects of work, in particular, the political and economic departments of the embassy and received answers to numerous questions.

On 12 January 2024, one part of the IL students had the opportunity to visit the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, where they learned about the latest jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the EU and visited the main courtrooms of the Court, while the rest of the group visited the Parliament of Luxembourg. At the same time, students of other specialities made study visits to the Council of the EU, where they got acquainted with the work of the Council of Ministers of the EU and the European Council, as well as to the European Parliament in Brussels with a visit to the conference room and a lecture on the powers of the European Parliament and the legislative decision-making procedure in the European Union.
