On January 29-30, 2010, the European Regional Round of the 14th annual Stetson International Environmental Law Competition was held at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
On January 30, 2010, the International Round Table "Experience of Ukraine and Turkey in Overcoming the Global Crisis" was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University on the initiative of the Department of International Information.
February 2010
On February 19, 2010, at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, a ceremony was held to award master's degrees.
On February 19-21, 2010, the national round of the world-famous Philip Jessup International Law Competition was held in Kyiv. This year, given the unprecedented number of teams (15 applied for participation, and 10 took direct part in the oral round), the team of the Institute of International Relations, together with the team of the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", won the right to represent Ukraine in the final round of the competition, which will take place in the second half of March in Washington.
The team of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv under the leadership of Serhiy Kozyakov, associate professor of the Department of International Private Law of the Institute of International Relations, was among the winners of the Regional Round of International Debates on WTO Law (ELSA Moot Court Competition (EMCC) on WTO Law).
March 2010
On March 17, 2010, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, Ambassador Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira, visited the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
On March 18, 2010, a master class on public speaking was held at the Institute. Members of the political and diplomatic club "Ambassador" took part in it. The master class was conducted by trainers of the Pashkov House educational centre Kyrylo Pashkov and Maryna Kostenko.
On March 19, 2010, a seminar "Harmony and Success in Career" was held for students at the Institute of International Relations. The instructors of the seminar are psychologist-conflictologist, personal growth trainer - T. Grigoryan and practical psychologist, business consultant, and coach trainer - O. Nikolayenko.
On March 26, 2010, a gym was opened in dormitory No. 20 of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University. The opening was attended by the Director of the Institute Valery Kopiyka, deputy directors and the Head of the Institute's labour team Nataliya Serbina. The establishment of the gym was initiated by the members of the Student Council of the dormitory. The gym is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that allows students to play sports, develop physically and lead a healthy lifestyle.
As part of measures to beautify the territory and holding environment days at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv on March 30 and 31, 2010, students and teachers of the Institute of International Relations conducted measures to beautify the territory of the Institute and the territory adjacent to it. The participants of the action planted trees around the building under the slogan "Tree - from the course", cleaned the territory, and cleaned the lawns to improve the state of the environment and greening of the city.
April 2010
On April 17, 2010, students, teachers and employees of the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv took part in the Saturday workshop for the improvement of the territory of the Institute for the third time. Teachers and employees of the Institute, the Student Council together with the Student Council of the dormitory planted several dozen trees. Such events have already become a good tradition, and the students themselves plan to continue working in this direction.
On April 22, 2010, the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan FYULE visited the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
May 2010
In May - June 2010, the Institute held an art photography contest "Spring in the Heart. Spring in IIR". The format of the competition was open, so every student, graduate student or teacher of the Institute had the opportunity to participate in the exhibition and present their work to a wide audience. There were a lot of people willing. Representatives of all courses and departments participated in the event, combining almost 60 photos into the largest photo exhibition among students.

The Taras Shevchenko KNU team, which became the national champion of Ukraine and the semifinalist of the Regional Round in Leuven, Belgium, successfully performed in the Final Round of the competition in the Dominican Republic.
On June 3, 2010, at the meeting of the Institute's Student Council, the Chairman of the Institute Student Council, Artem Nikiforov, presented a report on the work of the Student Council for this academic year. During the ten-minute speech, Artem Nikiforov mentioned all the achievements of the student community but did not miss the points that need to be worked on.

On September 3, 2010, a meeting of students, graduate students and teachers with the President of the Republic of Latvia (1999-2007), Mrs Vaira Vike-Freiberga, took place in the academic council hall of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
On September 6, 2010, a meeting of students, post-graduate students and teachers with the vice-chair of the Monitoring Committee of the Council of Europe (1999-2007) Mrs Hanna Severinsen took place in the academic council hall of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
Associate Professor of the Department of International Private Law of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University Oleksandr Biryukov took part in the international annual two-day conference organized by the International Organization of Bankruptcy Practitioners - INSOL International. The conference was held in one of the best hotels in the United Arab Emirates, in the strange city of Dubai - Madinat Jumeirah.
October 2010
On October 4, 2010, a presentation of a new educational and educational project in the field of international and European law "School of European Law and Arbitration" was held at the Institute of International Relations within the framework of cooperation, the main goal of which is the consolidation of the legal, diplomatic and business elite to increase the quality of the legal elite by the European integration aspirations of Ukraine, modern global challenges, the formation of the legal elite. Highly professional lawyers, specialists in the field of diplomacy, and human rights activities, and business representatives from both Ukraine and the European Union, as well as the USA, Israel and other countries of the world, are directly involved in the implementation of the project.
On October 19, 2010, a meeting was held at the Institute of International Relations with Natalia Nemylovska, Acting Director of the NATO Information and Documentation Center. Mrs Nemylovska made a meaningful presentation, which interested the audience and provoked several questions. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about the current activities of the Alliance, as well as Ukraine's cooperation with NATO.
On October 20, 2010, the International Conference "65 Years of the United Nations: Experience and Prospects" was held at the Institute of International Relations, which was held with the assistance of the United Nations Representation in Ukraine. The conference was attended by ex-Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine G.Y. Udovenko and A.M. Zlenko, Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine B.I. Humenyuk, Coordinator of the UN system in Ukraine Olivier Adam, representatives of the embassies of the People's Republic of China and Great Britain in Ukraine.
On October 21, 2010, a conference of young scientists "Current problems of international relations - 2010" was held at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University. The work of conference took place in 20 sections and subsections.
October 21, 2010, at the Institute of International Relations by the Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations a round table was organized on the topic: "Ways of achieving European standards in the economic and social spheres of Ukraine".
On October 30, 2010, a tripartite Kyiv-Washington-Brussels video bridge was held at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University on the topic "Where is Ukraine going?" A view from Washington, Kyiv and Brussels". In addition to the student and scientific community, experts from three countries took part in the discussion. The Ukrainian side was represented by Oleksandr Zadorozhniy — professor, and head of the International Law Department of the Institute of International Relations, and Serhiy Galaka — professor of the Institute of International Relations. Experts from Washington were Matthew Rozhansky, deputy director of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and William Taylor, former US ambassador to Ukraine (2006-09). The main Brussels expert was Olga Shumylo-Tapiola, who is a visiting scientist at the European branch of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
November 2010
On November 5, 2010, the Institute of International Relations held an educational and methodological seminar on teaching international relations in Ukrainian universities. Its holding was dictated by the urgent need for further improvement of the higher education system, transformation of the content and organization of the educational process, in particular, in connection with the introduction of new areas of educational and professional training in the field of knowledge "international relations" and the approval by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of the list of specialities for which specialists are trained in higher educational institutions at the specialist and master's educational qualification levels.
On November 22, 2010, the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University celebrated the Day of Ukrainian Diplomacy. S. O. Mykytenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, G. Y. Udovenko, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, B. I. Tarasyuk, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, V. S. Ogryzko, Minister of Foreign Affairs visited the Institute for the solemn event. of Ukraine, V.K.Chechelashvili, Secretary General of GUAM, B.I.Humenyuk, rector of the Diplomatic Academy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, P.O.Kryvonos, general director of the General Directorate of the Kyiv City Council for the Service of Foreign Missions. The celebration began with a welcome speech by the Director of the Institute V.V. Pennies The distinguished guests also congratulated all those present on the professional holiday. After the official part, a celebratory concert was held, which delighted all the guests with bright performances.
On November 24, 2010, the Institute of International Relations hosted a distinguished guest - the former president of the Republic of Lithuania, Mr Valdas Adamkus. The meeting with students, postgraduates and teachers of the Institute took place in a friendly and sincere atmosphere. During the meeting, the students asked numerous questions, which sparked a lively discussion between the students and Mr President. At the end of the meeting, Valdis Adamkus thanked the audience for the good reception and left an inscription in the book of honoured guests of the Institute.
On November 25, 2010, the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University and the Eastern Policy Forum Foundation held a round table on the topic "Between partnership and association. Poland and Ukraine in the face of new conditions of the European integration process".
On November 25-26, 2010, the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv held a scientific and practical conference " Problems of implementing international treaties of Ukraine into the domestic legal system".
On November 29, 2010, at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, a meeting of the Head of the Department for Work with Partner Countries of the Office of Public Diplomacy of the NATO Headquarters, Mr Michel Dure, took place with the students of the institute. At the beginning of the meeting, Mr Dure spoke about NATO's New Strategic Concept. Mr Dure's speech interested the audience and raised many questions in the field of terrorism, piracy, etc. Students communicated with Michel Dure in both English and French, which pleasantly surprised the distinguished guest. The event became an excellent opportunity for future diplomats to communicate with representatives of the Alliance. At the end of the meeting, Mr Dure thanked O.I. as the moderator of the meeting. Shnyrkov, as well as the present students of the institute for the sincere welcome and interesting discussion that unfolded during the meeting.

On December 2, 2010, at the initiative of Tetyana Ivanovna Shinkarenko, Associate Professor of the Department of International Organizations and Diplomatic Service of the Institute of International Relations, a master class " Diplomatic reception with seating" was held. Breakfast " within the discipline "Ethnoculture and diplomacy" for masters specializing in "international organizations and diplomatic service".
On December 2 and 3, 2010, the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv hosted the rector and vice-rector of the State Institute of International Relations of Moldova (SIIM). At the request of the Moldovan side, the Institute of International Relations gladly received the distinguished guests, having an interest in the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of education. During their visit, the rector of DIIRM, doctor of political sciences, Professor Benyuk Valentin Anastasovych and the vice-rector for scientific work, doctor of legal sciences, professor Mykhailo Mykhailovych Birgeu during their visit met with the director of the Institute V.V. Kopiyka, gave a lecture on the state system, its system of higher education and current international legal problems of Moldova, and also visited the museum of the Institute of International Relations. During the reception, both parties had the opportunity to exchange valuable experience in the field of professional activities of higher educational institutions, laying the foundations for future cooperation, which deepened friendly relations between Moldova and Ukraine.
On December 7, 2010, a meeting was held with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine, Mr Hans-Jürgen Heimzot, at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
On December 8, 2010, the International Law Department of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv held a round table " International legal regulation of relations in the field of energy ".
On December 10, 2010, the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University hosted distinguished guests from Turkey. The delegation included the Rector of Istanbul Fatih University, Dr Sherif Ali Tekalan, as well as representatives of the Meridian International School. The Institute of International Relations was represented by the acting director of the Institute of International Relations, V. M. Matvienko, who gave a welcome speech, introducing the Turkish guests to the students of the institute.
On December 15, 2010, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ukraine Mr Akbar Ghasemi Ali-Abadi visited the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
