On January 31, 2013, the International Scientific and Methodological Conference "Problems of Teaching International Law" was held by the Department of International Law of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
February 2013
The team of the Institute of International Relations of KNU named after Taras Shevchenko " IIR A " consisting of Yuriy Vyazovetskyi and Anton Granovskyi (3rd year of MEV) won the English-language part of the International Economic Debate Tournament " Economics 2013", which took place on February 9-10 in the city of Dnipropetrovsk.
On February 13, the Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Ukraine, Paul Friedrich von Furherr, visited the IIR. Mr. von Furherr spoke about the tasks that the Order of Malta sets before itself, in particular in the field of cooperation with Ukraine.
On February 21, 2013, with the assistance of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine, a discussion was held at the UN headquarters on the topic "The contribution of the Ukrainian school of international law to its study and teaching". The main speaker, associate professor of the Department of International Law of the Institute of International Relations, Mykola Mykolayovych Hnatovsky, devoted his presentation to issues of the history of the creation and development of the Kyiv School of International Law, as well as the role of the International Law School in the study, teaching, dissemination and wider recognition of this discipline on the world stage.
The team of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University became finalists in the National Round of the International Judicial Debates on WTO Law ( ELSA Moot Court Competition he WTO law ( EMC ²)), which took place on February 23-24 in Lviv.
On February 27, 30 students of IIR led by the teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages, O.M. Hon. visited the National Parliamentary Library of Ukraine. The excursion was conducted by the chief bibliographer of Zamorina T.M. The building, designed in the Italian Baroque style, first opened its doors at the end of the 19th century at the initiative of the Kyiv nobility and merchants.
The team of the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University successfully performed in the National round of the Philip Jessup Competition - the world's most famous international public law competition. The Institute's team consisting of Yaroslav Lepko, Anna Stepanova, Anna Tkachova, Bohdan Tokarsky and Serhiy Yaroshenko became a finalist. All members of the team were included in the list of the best speakers of the competition, and Bohdan Tokarskyi was recognized as the best speaker. Such a high result was ensured by the hard work of our students and the significant contribution of the Department of International Law of the Institute, in particular, Prof. O.V. Zadorozhnyi, Doctor of Law, Assoc. M.M. Hnatovskyi, Doctor of Jurisprudence, Asst. Korynevich A.O. and graduate students A.O. Vasyurenko, as well as the team's coaches: Oleksandr Ioffe, Alina Vasyurenko, Elizaveta Badanova and Anton Oleksandrovich Korynevych, without whom it would be impossible to imagine this success.

Congratulations to Olena Oleksiyivna Grinenko, Doctor of Law, a researcher at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Institute of International Relations, on the award of the President of Ukraine award for young scientists for the series of scientific works "Legal regulation of external relations of the European Union: experience for Ukraine".
The team of the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv became the winner of the national round of the International Law Competition named after Ben Telders ( Telders International Moot Court Competition ) and won the right to represent Ukraine in the international round of the competition, which will take place at the end of April in The Hague (Netherlands) in the premises of the UN International Court of Justice.
The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture elected its leadership at its regular session on March 7. The deputy chairman of the committee was a representative from Ukraine, an associate professor of Kyiv National University named after T. Shevchenko, Doctor of Jurisprudence Mykola Hnatovskyi.
On March 13, 2013, the Institute of International Relations hosted a meeting of students with the head of the Department for Work with Partner Countries and NATO Member States of the Office of Public Diplomacy of the NATO Headquarters, Dr Herlinda Nigus.
The team of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, consisting of 4th-year students of the MP Department, Oksana Matiyash, Vasyl Lyuty, Kostyantyn Ivanchuk, Iryna Mashtaler and Hanna Skorokhod, became the winner of the National Competition in International Arbitration under the auspices of the European Arbitration Chamber EAC Moot Court 2013. In addition, team captain Oksana Matiyash received the award "In est oralist ". The initiator and inspirer of the IIR team's participation in this competition is the head of the department, prof. O.V. Zadorozhnyi, team coach - Candidate of Science in Jurisprudence, Asst. A.O. Korynevich. The final of the Competition took place on March 15, 2013.
The team of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, consisting of 1st-year master’s student Polina Hryganska, 4th-year student Iryna Karpluk, and 3rd-year students Oleksiy Maslov and Oksana Varakina (all from the “International Law” department) successfully participated in the 6- to the Frankfurt competition of judicial debates on international investment arbitration ( Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court 2013), which took place from March 18 to 22, 2013. The trainers of the team are Dmytro Marchukov, an advisor of international arbitration and judicial practice of the law firm "Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasyev and Partners" a graduate of our Institute, a junior lawyer of the law firm "Sayenko, Kharenko" and a graduate of the Institute of International Law, Tetyana Makuha, and Olena Kucher, a graduate student of the Department of International Law.
On March 22, 2013, at 9:00 a.m., the "Career Forum" organized by the international youth organization AIESEC in Ukraine was held based on the Institute of International Relations in the Great Assembly Hall, which allowed students and guests of IIR to attend master classes by Natalia Brovchenko, HR director of rabota.ua about how to find the job of your dreams, as well as listen to the success story of Hanna Kurylenko, senior audit manager of Ernst & Young corporation. For those who are interested in the prospects of a young specialist, Vladlen Sysun, head of the EU project "Development of Professional Competencies of Ukrainian Specialists", and part-time director of the consulting centre "European Technical Assistance" awaited the master class.
The team of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University brought good news from the regional European round of International Judicial Debates on WTO Law ( ELSA Moot Court Competition he WTO Law ( EMC ²), which took place from March 20 to 24, 2013 in Cluj-Napoca (Romania). The university is represented by Maria-Hrystyna Koziy (2nd year of the Master's degree at the Institute of International Relations), Olesya Kryvetska (4th year at the Institute of International Relations) and Vitaly Danylchenko (1st year of the Master's degree at the Faculty of Law).
Daria Oleksandrivna Suprunenko, a 4th-year student of the "International Economic Relations" program, became the winner of the 2013 All-Ukrainian Contest of Student Research Papers: "Current issues of cooperation with the European Union".
A 4th-year student of the "International Economic Relations" program, Olga Mykhaylivna Hladunyak became the winner of the II stages of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in 2013. in the speciality "International Economy".
April 2013
On April 5, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic to Ukraine, Mrs Lila Roldan Vazquez De Muan, visited the Institute of International Relations. During the meeting with the management of the Institute, the prospects for deepening the cooperation between the Embassy and our educational institution in the cultural and educational spheres were discussed.
On April 11, 2013, a meeting was held at the Institute of International Relations with the founder and president of the European School of Economics, Mr Stefano Elio D'Anna, and the president of the Campus Italia educational platform, Mr Marcello Zeppi.
On April 14, 2013, IIR students visited the orphanage "Prolisok" in the village of Vovchkiv, Polisky district, Kyiv region. The orphanage educates 19 boys and 5 girls aged 3 to 16. Gifts, sweets, fruits, juices, clothes, shoes, toys, cartoons, books, colouring pages, pencils, paints, educational games and many other useful things were brought to the children. A master class on making friendship bracelets and colouring them was held for children.
On April 19, 2013, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the speciality "International Information" at the Institute of International Relations with the assistance of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the National Institute of Strategic Studies, the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine, an international scientific conference "International information: conceptual and applied dimensions".
On April 19, 2013, the Institute of International Relations was visited by the Delegation of the Union of Comoros, consisting of the Head of the Presidential Administration, the Minister of Defense of the Union of Comoros, Hamada Madi Bolero, and the Head of the Directorate for Consular Affairs, the Inspector General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mirhan Burhan, who were accompanied by the Honorary Consul of the Union of Comoros in Ukraine Oleksandr Lvovich Kuznetsov.
The team of the Institute of International Relations consisting of Anton Moiseyenko, Vitaly Nabukhotny (fourth-year international law students) and Kateryna Busol (first-year graduate student of the Department of International Law) took first place at the International Criminal Court Model - 2013. Anton Moiseyenko also won a prize for the best-written work defence side and was recognized as the best orator of the competition. Kateryna Busol became the third-best speaker of the Model.
On April 23, 2013, there was a trip to the "Lyubystok" orphanage, Novi Petrivtsi village, Kyiv region. 25 children from 5 to 18 years of age are brought up in the orphanage. Thanks to the promotion partner FOODBANK Ukraine brought products, toys, clothes, cartoons, colouring pages, paints, books, educational games and other necessary things to the orphanage.
April 24, 2013 p . the international Ukrainian-Lithuanian scientific and practical conference "Lithuania and Ukraine in the European integration processes: political, legal and economic aspects" was held in the Hall of the Scientific Council of the Institute of International Studies, organized by the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (IIS) and the Institute of International Relations and Political Science Vilnius University (IIR), with the informational support of the Information Center of the European Union.
On April 24, 2013, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity (African Union), another meeting of the "African Seminar" was held, which is constantly operating based on the Department of Country Studies of the Institute of International Relations.
Fireflies shadow theatre charity concert took place on April 25, 2013, at 7:00 PM in the assembly hall of the Institute of International Relations. The concert with the participation of the Fireflies shadow theatre was held by students of the Institute of International Relations and graduates of the "Future Leaders Exchange Program" ( FLEX ) - an international technical assistance project administered in Ukraine by the organization "American Councils on International Education: ACTR / ACCELS ".
On April 25, 2013, an international scientific and practical conference was held in the meeting hall of the Academic Council of the Institute of International Relations on the topic: "Main models of Ukraine's participation in the integration processes on the territory of the CIS." The organizers of the conference were the Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations of the Moscow State University and the Corporation "Science Park "Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University".
On April 25, 2013, as part of the established practice of involving employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Administration of the President of Ukraine to conduct master classes for students of the Institute of International Relations, lectures by practitioners were given.
From April 26 to 30, 2013, Director of the Institute of International Relations V.V. Kopiyka visited the Kingdom of Morocco as part of an official delegation led by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Dmytro Volodymyrovych Tabachnyk. The delegation included: the rector of Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazina V.S. Bakirov, Rector of the National Transport University M.F. Dmytrychenko, rector of the Kharkiv National University of Economics V.S. Ponomarenko and rector of the Odesa National Academy of Food Technologies B.V. Egorov.

On May 10-12, 2013, the already traditional Fifth International mini-football tournament "Cup of Future Diplomats" was held in the city of Lviv, at which Kyiv was represented by the national team of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
On May 16, 2013, the Ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Volodymyrovych Nikolayko visited the Institute of International Relations.
On May 17, 2013, the international conference " All Correct Conference ", dedicated to the automation of the translation process, work with SAT programs and the implementation of innovative technologies in the process of teaching students of linguistic faculties.
On May 18, 2013, the Institute of International Relations, with the assistance of the Department of Foreign Languages, hosted a meeting with the famous theoretician and experienced practitioner of translation, the outstanding lexicographer Pavel Ruslanovich Palazhchenko. M. Gorbachev's translator, the author of popular English-Russian dictionaries, talked with teachers and students of the Institute, shared his vision of the theoretical and practical aspects of translation, and also expressed his opinion about the future of the translation profession.
On May 17, 2013, the annual State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology was presented in Kyiv - the most prestigious award in the field of science and technology techniques of Ukraine. By the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 279/2013, a total of fifteen prizes were awarded for works that have the appropriate permission for publication in mass media and two prizes for textbooks. On May 23, 2013, the Institute of International Relations held a conference on summing up the results and awarding participants of the competition "Ukraine of the 21st century: a civilizational choice", held by the Institute of Strategic Assessments at the Leonid Kuchma Presidential Fund "Ukraine".
On May 28, 2013, an unforgettable sports meeting of the teams of professors and teachers of the speciality "International Information" and the Faculty of Chemistry of T. Shevchenko KNU took place. The teams demonstrated high sports training, impressed with their energy and unprecedented enthusiasm.
On May 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the Meeting Hall of the Academic Council of the Institute of International Relations, on the occasion of the International Day of UN Peacekeepers, the UN Delegation in Ukraine together with the All-Ukrainian Organization of Peacekeeping Operations participants held a round table dedicated to the 65th anniversary of peacekeeping operations under the auspices of the UN. During the round table, the key aspects of the peacekeeping service were revealed, using the example of the participation of Ukrainians in the UN peacekeeping mission in Liberia - the country where the Ukrainian contingent has served the longest - more than 8 years.
On May 30, 2013, a lecture by Ms Nataliya Adamenko on the features of business protocol and etiquette for women was held at the Institute of International Relations with the assistance of the IIR Student Council.

On June 29, 2013, the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv hosted a solemn event dedicated to students receiving a bachelor's degree in the fourth year of education.
September 2013
On September 6, 2013, the first large-scale Meeting of graduates of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University took place. The initiator and organizer of the event are the Ardea Alba IIR Alumni Club. About 300 former students met on the 11th floor of the InterContinental Kyiv hotel in the B-Hush lounge bar.
On September 13, 2013, the Institute of International Relations was visited by Sven Clarke (Sven Clarke), senior adviser of the representation of the University of British Columbia in the Asia-Pacific region. The meeting with the guest was conducted by the deputy director for international relations Golubii Ihor Yevhenovich. During the meeting, the guest got acquainted with the history of the Institute of International Relations, its structure, main areas of work and planned development projects. Sven Clarke expressed special interest in the "International Law" speciality.
On September 13, 2013, a meeting with representatives of the European Business Association was held at the Department of International Business. The teachers and graduate students of the department were presented with information about the activities of the EBA. On behalf of EBA, organizational support manager Tetyana Shirokova and PR and communications coordinator Tetyana Korchynska presented their informative reports.
On September 16, 2013, the Embassy of the United Mexican States hosted a diplomatic reception on the occasion of Mexican Independence Day. At the reception, the Institute of International Relations was represented by the Deputy Director for International Relations Ihor Evgenovich Golubii. During the reception, Ihor Yevgenovych had the opportunity to talk with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to Ukraine, Mrs Berenice Rendon Talavera, and to express her congratulations on the occasion of the holiday and wishes from the staff of the Institute of International Relations. In addition, the deputy director invited the ambassador to visit the IIR and give a lecture to the students.
On September 17, 2013, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Ukraine organized a diplomatic reception on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the Independence Day of Indonesia. At the reception, the Institute of International Relations was represented by the Deputy Director for International Relations Ihor Evgenovich Golubii. From the staff of the Institute of International Relations, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Ukraine Ms Ninik Kun Naryat was congratulated on the occasion of the holiday and an invitation was sent to visit our Institute and give a lecture to the students.
On September 18, 2013, a meeting was held at the Institute of International Relations with Mr David Lidington, Member of Parliament, and Minister for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain.
David Lidington addressed the audience with a short lecture on the topic: "Stronger Ukraine - stronger European Union" (Stronger Ukraine - stronger European Union), after which everyone had the opportunity to ask questions to the Minister.
During September 20-28, 2013, employees of the Department of Comparative and European Law of the Institute of International Relations (Assoc. A. Fedorova and Assoc. K. Smirnova) as part of a delegation from the "Open World" program, funded by the US Congress, took part in several official meetings with representatives of US government agencies and educational institutions.
On September 25, 2013, the International Scientific Conference "Association of Ukraine with the European Union: Legal Aspects" was held at the Institute of International Relations, dedicated to the current topic of signing the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.
On September 26, 2013, at the invitation of the Department of Country Studies of the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Hungary Yurii Yuryevich Mushka gave a lecture "The influence of the ethnocultural factor on the foreign and domestic policy of Hungary".
On September 26, 2013, at the Institute of International Relations, with the assistance of the Ukrainian Association of International Economists and the Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations, a meeting was held with Mr Ross Wooker, senior economist at RBSMarkets, the investment banking department of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
October 2013
On October 10, 2013, Oleg Voloshyn, a graduate of the speciality "International Relations", head of the group of advisers of the Service of the Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine, director of the Department of Information Policy of Ukraine from 2010-2013 visited the Institute of International Relations.
On October 11, 2013, the International Scientific Conference "Eastern Partnership: Goals - Experience - Challenges" was held at the Institute of International Relations. Analysis of implementation processes in the countries covered by the program", which was organized together with the Jagiellonian University of Krakow with the financial assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
On October 11, 2013, another event of the Department of International Organizations and Diplomatic Service of the Institute of International Relations took place. Students of the "International Organizations and Diplomatic Service" specialization together with Professor N.L. Yakovenko was visited by the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine.
On October 11, 2013, Minister-Counselor for Energy of the Republic of Venezuela Hoglis Martínez gave a speech to students in the 3rd year of the "International Business" speciality and teachers of the Institute of International Relations. The topic of the report: "Venezuela in the modern energy geopolitics of Latin America and the state of the Caribbean."
October 14, 2013, the first qualifying round of the intellectual and practical game "PRaktika" took place at the Institute of International Relations. It should be noted that such an event is being held for the first time at our Institute and was initiated by the Department of International Media Communications and Communication Technologies. On October 15, 2013, a session of simultaneous checkers with the world and European champion Valeria Kryshtal (1MV) took place within the walls of our Institute. Everyone could take part in the game, try their hand at it and just enjoy the intellectual competition. In 2013, Vasyl Ivanovich Kysil, professor of the Department of Private International Law at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, senior partner of Vasyl Kysil and Partners Law Firm, was awarded the Honorary Award of the Association of Lawyers of Ukraine "For Honor and Professional Dignity".

On October 17, 2013, as part of a visit to the Republic of Cyprus (ROC), which was organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Cyprus, the Director of the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko, prof. V.V. Kopiyka held negotiations with the management of the University of Nicosia regarding the establishment of cooperation with this leading higher educational institution of Cyprus.
On Thursday, October 17, 2013, a scientific symposium "Creative Contribution of Professor A.S. Filipenko in the educational and scientific speciality "World Economy and International Economic Relations". The event was timed to the 70th anniversary of the famous Ukrainian scientist-economist.
On October 17, 2013, a master class on diplomatic protocol and etiquette on the topic "A la buffet" was held at the Institute of International Relations of KNU named after Taras Shevchenko.
On October 18, 2013, a master class on lie detection took place within the walls of our Institute. Anyone interested could take part in a two-hour session with experts on evaluating non-verbal information in negotiations and non-instrumental lie detection in the format of a lecture discussion.
On October 20, 2013, a sports volleyball tournament among Turkmen students for the Cup of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine, timed to the national holiday of Turkmenistan's Independence Day, ended in Kyiv.
On October 22, 2013, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of South Sudan and the United Republic of Tanzania, Volodymyr Butyaga, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kenya, Amina Mohamed.

November 2013
In the period from October 27 to November 2, 2013, the World Bank team visited the city of Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan) with the Mission to provide the Government with technical assistance in reforming legislation on corporate bankruptcy and starting the development of personal bankruptcy rules.
From November 6 to 8, 2013, the Director of the Institute of International Relations, Prof. Valery Kopiyka paid an official visit to the city of Strasbourg. The delegation of the Institute of International Relations recently took part in the International Scientific Conference "Polish-Ukrainian Relations (1991-2013). An attempt at a summary". The conference, attended by researchers from Kyiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Khmelnytskyi, was held on November 14-15 at the Marie Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin (Poland).
On November 15, 2013, the Director of the Institute V.V. Kopiyka met with Mr Philippe Olivier, Commissioner for International Relations of the University of Paris XIII, at the Institute of International Relations. The meeting was also attended by Professor V. A. Manzhola, Head of the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy.
On November 15, 2013, the international scientific conference "Association of Ukraine with the European Union: state, problems, prospects" was held at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
On November 18, the first final of the intellectual and practical game "Practice" was held in the Hall of the Scientific Council of the Institute of International Relations. We would like to remind you that such an event is held for the first time in our Institute and was initiated by the Department of International Media Communications and Communication Technologies.
On November 20, 2013, the solemn and successful completion of the 10-week English-language training on the topic: "The art of professional presentation and negotiation in business" took place with the participation of the management of IIR and managers of well-known foreign companies.
On November 25, 2013, an open class was held, at which the results of a joint project of the Department of International Media Communications and Communication Technologies and the Department of Foreign Languages of Moscow State University were presented.
On November 27, the Institute of International Relations hosted a presentation of the Euroschool in Vilnius, organized by the "European Choice" public organization with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine.
On November 28, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Kostyantyn Hryshchenko met with students in the Small Assembly Hall of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University. The main topic of discussion was the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to suspend the process of preparation for the conclusion of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union. The rector of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Leonid Hubersky, took part in the meeting.

On December 3-6, 2013, the OSCE Ministerial meeting was held in Kyiv. The meeting was attended by foreign ministers of 57 member states and 11 OSCE cooperation partner states, heads of OSCE institutions and other international organizations.
On December 9, 2013, the final stage of the first season of the intellectual-practical game " PRactice" took place in the Meeting Hall of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Medical Sciences. This time, three teams fought for victory and an internship in one of the leading PR agencies of Ukraine - SPN Ogilvy. The performances of the teams were evaluated by the teachers of the Department of International Media Communications and Communication Technologies, Assoc. Danylenko S.I., Assoc. Shevchenko O.V., Assoc. Yakovets A.V. led by Serhiy Sokolov, director of business development of SPN Ogilvy.
On December 17, the main event of the year took place at the Institute of International Relations - the contest "Mr Diplomat" 2013! The 8 best students of IIR competed for the title of the most talented young diplomat. On the portal "Seize the moment!" the voting for the participants continued, Oleksandr Osipov became the winner, read the interview with him on the portal very soon.
On December 21, 2013, on the occasion of St. Nicholas Day, a trip to the orphanage "Nadia" in the city of Pryluky, where 70 children from birth to 4 years of age are educated, was traditionally held.
