A wonderful art event took place in the hall of the Educational and Research Institute of International Relations - an exhibition of paintings by the famous Cambodian artist Uk Dar Chan. The artist was born on 14 December 1961 in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. He received his artistic education first at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Royal School of Arts in Cambodia (1980-1985), and later continued his studies in Ukraine - at the Faculty of Painting of the Kyiv State Art Institute (1987-1992). The work of Uk Dar Chan is well known outside his homeland: his paintings are kept in national museums and private collections in Australia, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, the USA, France, Yugoslavia and Ukraine.

The exhibition featured landscapes of Cambodia - warm, bright works full of tropical colour, in which one can feel the artist's deep respect for the nature and culture of his native country. At the same time, a significant place in the exhibition was occupied by paintings on Ukrainian themes - touching, emotional, often dramatic, created with great love and compassion. Uk Dara Chan is deeply concerned about the fate of Ukraine, which he considers his second homeland, and through art he seeks to support our people in difficult times. His works are a bridge between cultures, a sincere testament to respect, friendship and solidarity.

This exhibition was made possible thanks to the initiative of the Centre for ASEAN Studies, which successfully operates on the basis of the Educational and Research Institute of International Relations. The Centre actively promotes the development of cultural, scientific and educational ties between Ukraine and the countries of Southeast Asia. As part of the exhibition opening, a warm meeting with the artist took place, during which Uk Dara Chan made a generous gift - he donated one of his paintings to the Centre's permanent collection. This gesture was not only an expression of gratitude, but also a symbol of friendship that unites the peoples of Cambodia and Ukraine.
