Guest Lecturer Of The Director Of The State Protocol Department Of The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Of Ukraine

On October 29, 2025, with the assistance of the Department of International Organizations and Diplomatic Service of the National Institute of Foreign Studies of Ukraine (Head of the Department – Prof. Viktor MATVIENKO), a practical professional meeting was held with Ms. Olena YALOVA, Candidate of Political Sciences, Director of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. This master class was held with students of the 1st year of higher education in the «Master's» OP «International Economic Relations» and OP «International Regional Studies» in the format of the academic discipline «Diplomatic Protocol and Etiquette» (Prof. Viacheslav TSIVATYI, Prof. Natalia YAKOVENKO). 

Topic of the master class: «Protocol and ceremonial features of visits at the highest and highest levels». In her presentation, Mrs. Olena YALOVA focused on: tasks of Ukrainian diplomacy in modern conditions; classification, tasks and goals of visits; peculiarities of preparation of visit programs; protocol elements of the meeting of guests; matters of ceremonial during visits of high and highest levels; gifts in protocol practice.

The lecture was made possible thanks to the long-term practice of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, within the framework of which diplomats-practitioners join the teaching of academic disciplines. In this way, students receive invaluable knowledge and practical skills in the field of practical diplomacy in order to be better prepared for their future profession.

The students of higher education thanked Ms. Olena YALOVA with thunderous applause for an interesting lecture, and received comprehensive answers to all their questions.
