How to find a war criminal: presentation from the investigators of the Suspilne

The Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv invites students on February 9 at 12:40 at the address 36/1 Yuriy Illienko Street to the audience 36 for an open presentation of the investigation "Klyon" from the journalists of the Public. This documentary tells the story of the Yagidnya tragedy that occurred during the occupation of Chernihiv in March 2022. To present a documentary from the team of investigators of the Public will: Alla Sadovnik - author of the investigation "Clone," journalist of the editorial office of investigations of the Public; Inna Biletska is the author of the script and the producer of the investigation, the editor-in-chief of the Public Investigation Department.

«Klyon» — the second part of the investigation of the crimes of the Russian military against the inhabitants of the village of Yagodnoye. The first part of the investigation - "Diary of a Survivor" - was presented by journalists in the fall of 2022.

Thanks to a video published by Russian propagandist and singer Yulia Chicherina, journalists stumble upon the trail of a Russian officer who was wanted for more than a year as responsible for atrocities in the Berry Chernihiv region. There, in the basement of the school, 366 villagers were held hostage for 27 days, ten died during this detention. Now journalists know what the Russian military looks like with the call sign "Klyon," and can look for it using artificial intelligence. But the task is much more difficult than they expected. In the documentary detective you will discover the features of the search for war criminals, the subtleties of working under the legend and what Russian officers are ready to do to avoid responsibility for war crimes.
