International Conference "Financial Aspects of Global Economic Development: Challenges and Prospects"

On May 15, 2024, the International Conference "Financial Aspects of Global Economic Development: Challenges and Prospects" in honour of the 25th anniversary of the Department of International Finance and the 80th anniversary of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations was held at the Department of International Finance.

The conference was opened and a welcoming speech was delivered by Valerii Kopiika, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations, Professor. Welcoming remarks were also made by: Vasyl Namoniuk – Head of the Department of International Finance; Anton Filipenko – President of the All-Ukrainian Association of International Economists NGO; Juergen Kaehler – Prof. h.c. PhD, Institute of Economics, Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg; Oleksandr Shnyrkov – Head of the Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations; Dmytro Rasshyvalov – Head of the Department of International Business; Sergiy Yakubovskyi – Head of the Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations, Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University; Nadiia Kazakova – Head of the Department of International Economic Relations named after Artur Holikov, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University; Petro Nikiforov – Head of the Department of Finance and Credit, Yurii Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University; Oleksandr Rohach, Serhii Tsyhanov, Pavlo Dziuba – Professors of the Department of International Finance; Oleksandr Pidchosa – Associate Professor, One Belt One Road Research Institute, Hong Kong Chu Hai College.

After the welcoming speeches, the conference proceedings began. Participants presented the results of their research within two areas of scientific discourse: current issues of international finance and financial determinants of Ukraine's economic development. Students were also active participants, presenting their papers in the "Scientific Student Dialogue: Youth's View on Global Financial Challenges" section. In total, over 150 participants from various parts of Ukraine and abroad took part in the conference.

Based on the conference results, a collection of abstracts will be prepared as a separate issue of "Current Issues of International Relations" (category B).
