Lecture by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ruslan Spirin on Integration Processes in Latin America

On October 16, 2026, with the support of the Department of International Organizations and Diplomatic Service at the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations (IIR) of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, an online lecture was held for second-year Bachelor's students of the "Area Studies" program. The lecture was delivered by practitioner-diplomat from the Department of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ruslan SPIRIN, on the topic: “Integration Processes in Latin America.”

The session took place as part of the course "International Organizations" (taught by Assistant Professor Serhii AVERIANOV).

During the meeting, the distinguished lecturer shared his practical experience with future area studies specialists, offering an in-depth analysis of key regional organizations, the specifics of inter-state cooperation, and contemporary challenges to integration in the Latin American region.

Students were provided with a unique opportunity to learn about the nuances of diplomatic work and the operational specifics of international organizations in the region directly from an experienced Ukrainian diplomat.

This lecture was made possible through longstanding cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, under which practicing diplomats actively contribute to academic courses. Through this institutional partnership, students acquire invaluable knowledge and practical skills in diplomacy, preparing them for their future professional careers.
