Lecture by the director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Olena Yalova, on the topic "Peculiarities of the work of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine"
On April 14, 2026, with the assistance of the Department of International Organizations and the Diplomatic Service, a practical and inspiring professional meeting was held with Ms. Olena YALOVA, Director of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. This master class was held with students of the 2nd year of the "Bachelor" OP "International Relations" in the format of the academic discipline "Diplomatic Protocol and Etiquette" (assoc. professor Viacheslav TSIVATYI). The topic of this master class: "Peculiarities of the work of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine." In her presentation, Ms. Olena YALOVA focused on:
• classification, tasks and goals of visits;
• peculiarities of preparation of visit programs;
• protocol elements of the meeting of guests;
• matters of ceremonial during visits of high and highest levels;
• requirements for business cards;
• features of diplomatic correspondence;
• dress code;
• gifts in protocol practice, etc.

The lecture was made possible thanks to the long-term practice of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, within the framework of which diplomats-practitioners join the teaching of academic disciplines. Through institutional interaction, students of higher education receive invaluable knowledge and practical skills in the field of practical diplomacy in order to be better prepared for their future profession.
The students of higher education thanked Ms. Olena YALOVA with thunderous applause for an interesting lecture, and received comprehensive answers to all their questions.
