Meeting between Valeriy Kopiika, Director of IIR, and Oleksandr Karasevych, State Secretary of the MFA of Ukraine
A meeting was held recently between Valeriy Kopiika, Director of the IIR, and Oleksandr Karasevych, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas for developing cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Institute. The main focus was on utilising the Institute’s academic expertise to prepare expert studies on topical issues of foreign policy and the protection of Ukraine’s national interests on the international stage.
Following the talks, agreements were reached on establishing systematic expert support from the Institute on issues of interest to Ukraine’s foreign policy activities. Provision was also made for coordinating the topics of master’s and doctoral research in line with the current needs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The parties paid particular attention to the development of practical training for future specialists in the field of international relations. The possibility of organising internships for students of the Institute of International Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was discussed, which will help to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience in the diplomatic service.
