Meeting with the Irish Ambassador at the IIR

A meeting with His Excellency Jonathan Conlon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to Ukraine, was held at the Institute of International Relations. The event focused on professional development, international careers, and the challenges of modern diplomacy.

Ambassador Conlon shared his own professional journey — from studies at the UCD Graduate School of Business in Dublin to work at the United Nations, the OSCE, EU institutions, and his leadership of the Trade Division at Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs.

The discussion covered the following key topics:

  • The role of education in professional development;
  • The functioning of international organizations and EU institutions;
  • Business diplomacy and international economic cooperation;
  • Challenges of an international career and practical advice for future professionals.
