A new monograph, “Global Climate Leadership in International Relations” by Olena Shevchenko, Professor at the Department of International Media Communications and Communication Technologies of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, was published.

The monograph examines the conceptual and applied aspects of international climate policy, the strategies of leading international actors, and the transformation of the global climate agenda. The study analyses the climate policies of the United States, the European Union, and China, as well as Ukraine’s role in the system of international climate interactions. Particular attention is paid to the communicative dimension of climate policy and the influence of public opinion on the development of international actors’ strategies.

The relevance of the study is determined by the growing impact of global climate change on international politics, the economy, security, and the formation of new international partnerships and alliances. At the same time, the climate policies of leading states are increasingly becoming an important instrument of international influence and a means of shaping a new global agenda.

Olena Shevchenko’s monograph is the first comprehensive political study of global climate leadership in Ukraine, offering an integrated analysis of the strategies of leading international actors and their impact on international climate cooperation.
