On May 8, 2026, Acting Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations, Olena Pryiatelchuk, took part in the international scientific and practical conference “European Space of Opportunities, Unity and Sustainable Development.”

During the opening of the conference, Olena Pryiatelchuk delivered a welcoming address, emphasizing that holding this event on the eve of Europe Day in Ukraine is deeply symbolic. Today, Ukraine’s European integration has finally moved beyond the stage of political declarations into the sphere of daily, highly complex and comprehensive work. It represents a fundamental transformation of Ukrainian society, the economy, and public administration. For Ukraine, the European space is a space of shared security, resilience, and enduring values.

In her remarks, the Acting Director of the ESIIR also stressed that the demands of our time are changing rapidly, making a strong scientific foundation critically important for these transformations. According to her, universities today serve not only as centers of knowledge, but also as powerful analytical hubs that guide and support Ukraine’s path toward full membership in the European Union.

Olena Pryiatelchuk also highlighted that the conference’s innovative nature lies in its interdisciplinary approach. The time has come for diplomacy, economics, governance, and the agricultural sector to work in synergy.

“Successful adaptation to EU standards is impossible without understanding how to modernize specific sectors while ensuring sustainable development. Discussions on spatial transformations and the harmonization of our socio-economic systems are practical steps that bring us closer to success. Today, the academic and expert community must provide the state with applied, scientifically grounded solutions that take into account both the best European practices and Ukraine’s unique realities,” Olena Pryiatelchuk noted.
