Students and graduates of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations unite to study international humanitarian law!

On 4-9 August 2025, the Regional Centre for Human Rights organised a summer school on international humanitarian law called "Justice Lens".

Anna Kryzhanivska and Vladyslava Monya, students of the International Law educational programme, took part in the summer school.

Among the experts of the RCHR are graduates of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations Kateryna Rashevska (Doctor of Philosophy in International Law, 2024), Daryna Pidhorna (Master of International Law, 2021), Ksenia Kornienko (Master of International Law, 2022), Yulia Spivak (Master of International Law, 2024) and Artur Raikov (postgraduate student of the International Regional Studies programme).

Justice Lens participants deepened their knowledge of international humanitarian law and learned more about:

  • war crimes
  • the role of international institutions and judicial bodies
  • protection of children's rights
  • the crime of genocide
  • protection of cultural heritage
  • geopolitics

The busy week of learning wrapped up with the Human Rights Hackathon, where teams wrote appeals to different international institutions to protect human rights during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
