Students from the Institute of International Relations spent a month improving their German language skills at the Munich International Summer University!

From 3 to 28 August 2026, Artem Serebryakov, a third-year student on the ‘International Business’ programme, and Anna Kryzhanivska, a first-year Master’s student on the ‘International Law’ programme, took part in summer German language courses at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.

The International Summer University brought together over 200 students from all over the world — the programme focused on improving conversational and academic German, as well as immersing students in the cultural and historical life of Munich and Bavaria.

An important part of the programme was a visit to the Dachau Memorial – the first permanent Nazi concentration camp in Germany, established in 1933.

“The summer German language courses were a wonderful opportunity for me to improve my language skills and meet people from different countries. The lessons were interesting and practical, and the atmosphere on the course encouraged me to speak more German and use the language with greater confidence in everyday life,” says Artem.

“MISU has become a truly vibrant international and intercultural hub for us. As well as mastering German to C1 level, I had the chance to meet students from all corners of the world, which undoubtedly helped me broaden my social circle and represent Ukraine on the international stage,” recalls Anna.

The high-quality language training provided by the Department of Foreign Languages at the Institute of International Relations and International Studies enables our students to take part in international educational programmes, work confidently in an intercultural environment and represent Ukraine on the world stage.

We are proud of our students’ achievements! We wish them every success in their future endeavours.
