Participation of students of the Institute of International Relations in three summer educational programmes from the French NGO ‘Ukraine in Europe’
Students of the Institute of International Relations took part in three summer educational programmes organised by the French NGO Ukraine in Europe.
From 29 June to 7 July 2024, a delegation of students from the Institute of International Relations took part in an international educational programme on European and International Studies in Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria. The aims of this educational trip were to get acquainted with the work of the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), the Nuremberg Trials Memorial, visit the UN and WTO Offices in Geneva, and finally visit the two chambers of the Austrian Parliament - the Federal Council and the National Council.
From 13 to 20 July 2024, a delegation of students from the Institute of International Relations took part in an international educational programme on parliamentarism and the heritage of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In eight days, the students of the Institute of International Relations travelled along the roads of ‘Grandma Austria’ from Lviv to Northern Italy and back through the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary, visiting the parliaments of Austria and Hungary, as well as an interesting visit to the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna.
From 4 to 14 August 2024, a large delegation of students of the Institute of International Relations took part in an educational trip to the United Kingdom and the capital of the European Union - Brussels. The educational programme on European studies, translation practice and parliamentarism included an informative lecture at the European Parliament on the work of this European institution; a visit to the former residence of Winston Churchill - Chartwell, a visit to the House of Commons of the British Parliament, familiarisation with the opportunities for studying at the prestigious London School of Economics (LSE), a visit to the Museum of Winston Churchill's War Cabinet. Churchill's War Cabinet Museum in London and, in general, getting acquainted with the historical and cultural sights of the British capital; finally, visiting Windsor Castle and university cities - Oxford (with a visit to Trinity College) and Cambridge (with a visit to Queens' College).
The NGO ‘Ukraine in Europe’ sincerely thanks all the individuals and institutions that contributed to the organisation of this educational trip, and especially Yulia Poleieva, a lecturer at the Educational and Research Institute of International Relations.
From 10 to 18 October 2024, the NGO Ukraine in Europe is organising the last educational trip to Sweden this year, with visits to Germany and Denmark. The educational programme includes visits to the Bundestag, the Swedish Parliament, the royal reception rooms of the Christianshavn Palace in Copenhagen, the Royal Palace in Stockholm, the Swedish Air Force Museum, and the Zeckilienhof Palace, the site of the 1945 Potsdam Conference. In addition to visiting the three European capitals, you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the religious (Lund) and aviation (Linköping) capitals of Sweden, as well as visit Hamburg and Potsdam.
