Participation in the XXV International Scientific Conference ‘Europe in the 21st Century’

On February 6-7, 2025, the lecturers of the Department of International Information, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector for Public Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Olena Dobrzhanska and assistant Maria Zaitseva, as part of the KNU delegation, took part in the XXV International Scientific Conference “Europe in the XXI Century”, organized by Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań at the Polonikum Collegium in Slubice.
This year, the two- days discussion was held on the topic “Security of Europe, the European Union and its Member States: Current Status and Future Scenarios.” The conference was organized in the framework of panel discussions on “International and Regional Security,” “Society and Politics,” “European Union: Politics, Security, Challenges,” “Migration and Integration,” “Media, Disinformation and Communication,” and others.

Many of them raised the issue of risks associated with the war in Ukraine.
At the initiative of the Ukrainian side, the conference included the first Polish-Ukrainian round table discussion “Gender Equality in Poland and Ukraine: Academic Context.”
Moderators: Olena Dobrzhanska, Vice-Rector of the National University of Kyiv, and Tadeusz Vallas, Head of the Conference Organizing Committee, Professor of Adam Mickiewicz University, Honorary Doctor of the National University of Kyiv.
Elżbieta Lesiewicz, a professor at the same university and the rector's gender advisor, also joined the discussion.

The participants of the round table discussed institutional manifestations of gender equality in universities, ensuring equal rights of students, and gender equality in scientific research.
KNU plans to continue cooperation with Polish colleagues, in particular, to hold the second-round table “Gender Dimension of Rights and Freedoms: Global and Local Gender Policy” in early March this year.
