Poetry Day

Every year, March 21 is Poetry Day. On this occasion, the lecturers and students of the International Communications Program gathered for the second time at the joint event “Poetry Evening” to demonstrate their poetic talents.
The poetry evening was opened by the organizer Maria Zaitseva.
At the beginning of the event, Natalia Belousova, Acting Head of the Department of International Information, made a welcoming speech.
Vice-Rector for Public Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Olena Dobrzhanska welcomed the participants and read an excerpt from Kobzar.

Taras Chapenko and Anna Ushchapivska received a special gift from the rector of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Volodymyr Buhrov, for their duet recitation of Serhiy Zhadan's poem “Some People Are Better at Consonants” and Maria Gurenko for her presentation of her own poetry.
The guests and participants of the poetry evening listened to the works of famous Ukrainian and foreign poets in Ukrainian and German, including Lina Kostenko, Serhiy Zhadan, Vasyl Symonenko, Yuriy Izdryk, Vasyl Stus, Raisa Troianker, and Die Lorelei - Heinrich Heine.
Poems were recited by: Taras Chapenko (2nd year), Anna Ushchapivska (3rd year), Anastasia Mostipan (2nd year), Roman Shvets (2nd year), Polina Avramenko (3rd year), Anastasia Vatankha (2nd year), Ulyana Ivanova (1st year), Savenko Daria (2nd year), Dyadechko Sofia (2nd year), Pidhorodnia Maria (4th year), Burlaka Kateryna (4th year), Dmytro Kulik (3rd year), Zalutska Maria (2nd year), Melnyk Milana (4th year), prof. Poetry has become a real source of inspiration for our participants - Prof. Yuriy Romanenko presented his own poetic translation of fragments from the book of Job, and 2nd year student Maria Gurenko read her own poems “Dionysus Wine”, “The Smell of My Soul”, “Spring is Inside”.
Poetry plays an important role in shaping the culture of society, unites and inspires people to write their own poems!
