We are pleased to announce the publication of  Recommendations for improving Ukraine’s labor and social legislation in accordance with European Union standards. Edited by Associate Professor Alla L. Fedorova from the Chair of Comparative and European Law, these Recommendations were developed following the International Roundtable “Legislative Reforms in Ukraine and European Labor and Social Standards in the Context of Ukraine’s Integration into the EU,” held on May 22–23, 2025.

The event was part of the MSCA4Ukraine project No. 1233330, “Approximation of Ukrainian Social and Labor Legislation to EU Legislation,” funded by the European Union. It was organized by the Faculty of Law of Palacký University in Olomouc (Czech Republic), in cooperation with the Council of Europe project “Strengthening the Social Dimension in Ukraine” and the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine).

The Recommendations were prepared by Associate Professors Alla L. Fedorova and Olena V. Sviatun alongside more than 60 experts in the field of labour and social law from across Europe and Ukraine.

These Recommendations are expected to foster further discussion and engagement among academics, practitioners, social partners, policymakers, and legislative drafters. They will contribute to ongoing legal reforms and the official screening of Ukraine’s legislation under Chapter 19 “Social Policy and Employment” of the EU accession negotiations, which began in spring 2025.
