Representatives of the International Communications Programme Joined the Discussion on European Integration Reforms in Public Health
Maria Zaitseva, Assistant Lecturer at the Department of International Information, together with students of the International Communications educational programme — Taras Chapenko, Mykhailo Stovburh, and Vladyslav Zaitsev — took part in the press breakfast "Why Ukraine Has Not Yet Adopted European Tobacco Control Standards," organized by the NGO «Life».
During the event, experts presented the findings of the 2025 Global Tobacco Industry Interference Index and discussed the challenges of implementing European tobacco control standards in Ukraine, the role of civil society in advocating for relevant legislative reforms, and mechanisms for countering the tobacco industry's influence on public policy.

The topics addressed during the press breakfast are directly related to the course "Lobbying Technologies," in which students examine the role of interest groups in the legislative process, advocacy tools, and communication between civil society organizations and public authorities.
The event also provided students with an opportunity to observe how legislative advocacy is carried out in practice and to gain a deeper understanding of the role that analytical research, statistical evidence, and expert assessments play in shaping and promoting public policy initiatives.
