Students of the Institute of International Relations received the Dmytro Kuleba named scholarship

On May 28, 2026, the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations announced the winners of the competition for the Dmytro Kuleba named scholarship.

The winners are: 

Stefaniia Didenko — 1st-year student of the “International Economic Relations” degree; 

Olha Surnyk — 2nd-year student of the “International Law” degree; 

Oksana Lab’iаk — 3rd-year student of the “International Relations” degree;

The topic of this year’s essay competition was “Effective Security Guarantees for Ukraine: Political, Economic, and Legal Aspects.”

A total of 26 works were submitted. The competition commission of the Institute selected the six best essays, from which Dmytro Kuleba personally chose the three winners.

We sincerely congratulate the winners and thank all participants for their high level of preparation, analytical approach, and commitment to Ukraine’s future.

Addressing the scholarship recipients, Dmytro Kuleba emphasized the importance of believing in one’s goals: “Believe in what you do. Of a person truly believes in what they are doing, everything will definitely come true.”

The diplomat also noted that he plans to further develop the competition and continue supporting the named scholarship, as such initiatives motivate students, build self-confidence, and demonstrate that success is achieved through knowledge, perseverance, continuous learning, and self-development.

The winners were congratulated by Acting Rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Valerii Kopiika, and Acting Director of the Institute of International Relations, Olena Pryiatelchuk.

The named scholarship was established in 2023 on the initiative of Dmytro Kuleba — a 2005 graduate of the Institute of International Relations and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine from 2020 to 2024.

The initiative is implemented with the support of the IIR Development Fund, which provides organizational and financial support for the scholarship program.
