We are proud to announce that our team achieved outstanding results at the Oxford IP Moot 2026, narrowly missing out on the quarter-finals and demonstrating a standard of performance in the oral rounds befitting the top 10 teams.

The team comprised students from the Institute of International Law:

  • Kateryna Opanasenko (4th year, ‘International Law’)
  • Margarita Karmanuk (3rd year, ‘International Law’)
  • Veronika Ostrivna (2nd year, Master’s programme in ‘International Law’)

The team competed among the 32 best teams selected for the oral rounds from approximately 70 applicants from around the world. This is the strongest result achieved by Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in recent years of participation in the Moot.

The team was professionally coached by Ilona Bolyubash and Nataliia Badora — two dedicated mentors whose professional guidance, in-depth knowledge of intellectual property law and unwavering support were key to the team’s success

Participation in the competition required thorough preparation, in-depth analysis of intellectual property law issues and a high level of public speaking skills.

We are also sincerely grateful to the sponsors, whose generous support was essential in making the team’s participation in the competition possible: the Development Fund of the Institute of International Relations. Their assistance played a vital role in ensuring the team’s participation, supporting their preparation and, ultimately, helping to achieve this outstanding result.

The Oxford IP Moot is one of the most prestigious international competitions in the field of intellectual property law, bringing together the strongest student teams from around the world. Our students demonstrated an exceptional level of preparation, legal reasoning and advocacy skills during the oral rounds, despite all the difficulties and challenges of preparing during one of the harshest winters in Ukraine’s history.

We are immensely proud of our team, who represented the Institute of International Law and International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with honour on the international stage, and we wish them continued professional success, new achievements and inspiration!
