“The Thorny Path of Ukraine from a “European-Type” Colony to a Subject of International Relations”

книги

The new book by Professor Mykola Doroshko, Head of the Department of International Regional Studies, titled “The Thorny Path of Ukraine from a “European-Type” Colony to a Subject of International Relations” has been selected as one of the winners of the Ukrainian Book Institute (UBI) arts contest in 2025.

Was the UPR a fabrication of Kaiser Germany? Did the USSR possess real international status? Who actually shaped the modern borders of Ukraine? Why did the world turn a blind eye to the Holodomor? Why is Ukraine still outside NATO? And most importantly: is the process of international recognition of Ukraine as a state complete? The answers to these and other painful and uncomfortable historical questions you will find in the announced book by the renowned historian Mykola Doroshko.

Notably, this is already the fourth book by Mykola Savovych to win the UBI competition. Other popular science publications by the author, namely “Russia’s Undeclared Wars Against Ukraine in the 20th and Early 21st Centuries: Causes and Consequences” (2019), “History of Ukraine. Events. Figures. Phenomena” (2021), and “The Genocidal Wars of Lenin – Stalin – Putin in Ukraine” (2023), have also become the winners of the Ukrainian Book Institute competition.
