The Institute of International Relations, in partnership with the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), held a webinar entitled ‘The Impact of UNIDROIT on the Reform of Private Law in Ukraine’.
The participants were welcomed by Olena Pryyatelchuk, Acting Director of the Institute of International Relations.

During the webinar, participants discussed how UNIDROIT’s work influences the reform of private law in Ukraine. The discussion covered the history of the Institute, its current areas of activity and international legal instruments in the fields of lending, commercial contracts and financial instruments.

Particular attention was paid to the harmonisation of Ukrainian legislation with UNIDROIT’s international instruments, the further development of private law in Ukraine, and opportunities for students and young lawyers to take part in internships, research programmes and international academic initiatives.
In 2026, UNIDROIT will mark the 100th anniversary of its foundation. The webinar formed part of the events dedicated to the Institute’s centenary.
