January 2012
On January 25, 2012, the Department of International Law of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University and the Ukrainian Association of International Law held the first international legal readings in 2012. The scientific report of the candidate of legal sciences, professor of the department of public law, deputy dean of the law faculty of the International Solomon University of Vinglovskaya Olena Ivanovna on the topic "Problems of implementation of international legal standards of juvenile law in Ukraine" was presented. The international legal readings were attended by representatives of scientific institutions and universities of Ukraine, in particular, the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", the National University "Law Academy of Ukraine named after Yaroslav the Wise", the International Solomon University, the International Humanitarian University (Odesa).

February 10, 2012, an open lecture by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine K.I. was held at the Institute of International Relations of T. Shevchenko Kyiv National University. Hryshchenko in front of the Institute's student and teaching staff, the diplomatic corps and the scientific and expert society. The event began with a greeting from the rector of T.Shevchenko National University L.V. Hubersky, who introduced the honorary lecturer and gave him the floor.
February 17, 2012, at the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National University named after T. Shevchenko, a presentation of the accredited American University John took place at Cabot University, which is located in Rome, Italy. During the presentation, the possibility of a summer internship at the university was announced. JCU provides students with the opportunity to receive an American education while participating in Europe's rich cultural heritage.
February 28, 2012, The Institute of International Relations was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Ukraine J.V. Mr Rajiv Kumar Chander. The newly appointed Ambassador visited the Institute to express his assurance of his highest respect for the Institute of International Relations and to initiate a dialogue regarding further cooperation between Indian and Ukrainian education.
March 2012
March 14, 2012, the Institute of International Relations KNU named after T. Shevchenko was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States Y.V. Ms Berenice Rendon Talavera and Cultural Attaché Ms Ana Rosa Ochoa Sanchez.
March 16, 2012, a presentation of the Carnegie Research Fellowship Program was held at the Institute of International Relations.
March 22, 2012, The Institute of International Relations was visited by a delegation of the People's Republic of China headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Ukraine, Mr Zhang Xiyun, as well as First Secretary of the PRC Embassy Wang Jinguo, Second Secretary of the PRC Embassy Zhou Hun, Attaché of the PRC Embassy Ma Qingxin, Third Secretary of the PRC Embassy Chen Zhiyu, Attaché of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China Zhao Xiaoyu, Minister of Commerce Chen Deming. The delegation was accompanied by China Central Television video cameraman Yang Guang and Xinhua News Agency photographer Wang Quan. From the Institute, the following were present at this meeting: Kopiyka V.V.— director, Biryukov O.M., deputy director for scientific work and international relations.
April 2012
On April 4, 2012, the Institute of International Relations was visited by a delegation of the Argentine Republic headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina to Ukraine Ms Lila Roldan Vazquez De Muan. The delegation also included the Consul of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Ukraine Mr Christian Nikolas Sokolovsky and Nina Berger, secretary-translator.
On April 9, at the invitation of the Department of International Private Law and personally, Associate Professor Kozyakov S.Yu. Oleg Makarov, a well-known Ukrainian lawyer, co-founder and one of the partners of the law firm "Vasyl Kisil and Partners" gave a lecture to the students of the 1st and 5th year of the speciality "international law".
On April 11, 2012, the Institute of International Relations met the Director of the Vienna Diplomatic Academy Mr Hans Winkler and representatives of the Austrian Cultural Forum. In the hall of the Academic Council, Mr Winkler gave a lecture for students on the topic "Opportunities for youth in modern Europe." In particular, the lecturer talked about the programs for training future diplomats at the Diplomatic Academy. After the lecture, students and teachers asked Hans Winkler about the specifics of a diplomat's career and the Academy as a key educational institution of this type in Austria. The meeting was interesting and important for students and guests. The participants discussed ways of further cooperation between the Institute and the Academy.
On April 11, during the general meeting of the Department of History, Philosophy and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a ceremonial presentation of diplomas by the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for young scientists and students took place. Candidate of political sciences, junior researcher at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University - Kseniya Yuriyivna Denisenko was awarded the diploma. Her cycle of scientific works on the topic "Geopolitical Contours of Europe" was highly rated.
On April 19, 2012, the former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India Mr Kanwal Sibel visited the Institute of International Relations. He was accompanied by a delegation from the Indian Embassy, which included: the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India in Ukraine Mr Rajiv K. Chander and the 2nd Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Ukraine Mr Amit Verma. Mr K. Sibel's speech was devoted to India's policy in South Asia. He noted that the regional situation is characterized by instability, the cause of which is the recent civil wars in Sri Lanka and Nepal, the Indian-Pakistani territorial conflict, the isolation of Iran and Myanmar, and problematic relations with the People's Republic of China, which are connected with unresolved border issues.
On April 20, 2012, the meeting of the round table "Innovative development as a component of international integration processes" was held in the hall of the Academic Council of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University. The event was organized as part of the study of the planned scientific topic of the Institute of International Relations "Ukraine in international integration processes".
The Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv team consisting of O. Brovko, N. Kozachuk, M. Galushka, G. Sokolyansky reached the finals of the prestigious world competition in court debates on the law of the World Trade Organization ( The ELSA Moot Court Competition ( EMC² ).

On May 21, Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli, head of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications of the Vatican, gave a lecture on the topic: "How to proclaim values today" in the Meeting Hall of the Academic Council of the Institute of International Relations.
On May 23, 2012, international law readings were held by the Department of International Law of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the Ukrainian Association of International Law. The scientific report of the candidate of legal sciences, associate professor of the department of international law of the Institute of International Relations Hryhorov Oleksandr Mykolayovych on the topic "The main directions of international cooperation of Ukraine in the aviation industry" was presented. The international legal readings were attended by representatives of scientific institutions and universities of Ukraine, in particular, the National University "Odesa Law Academy", the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", the International Solomon University, and the International Humanitarian University.
June 2012
On June 25, the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University hosted a significant event in the history of the Institute - the visit of the outstanding American politician, diplomat and political scientist Henry Kissinger. Mr Kissinger was also accompanied by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the USA to the Russian Federation, James Collins (1997-2001).
September 2012
Since September 2012, the Center " Moot Court ". The purpose of its activity is to contribute to the preparation of students of the Institute to participate in student contests and competitions in specialized disciplines, in particular, in international public, international private, European law, etc. The centre has its auditorium, where all conditions are created for the fruitful training of students. The Institute's teachers, graduates and practising specialists will participate in the work of the Center, which will train the Institute's student teams.
On September 11, 2012, a unique event took place at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University - the opening of the Indology Center with the assistance of the Indian Council for Cultural Cooperation at the Embassy of India. As part of the work of this Center, Professor Savita Pande of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi) came to us, who will give a course of lectures on Indian culture for students of the Institute.
On September 13, at 9:30 a.m. in the meeting hall of the Academic Council of the Institute of International Relations, a meeting of students with Alec Ross, a special adviser to the Head of the US State Department Hillary Clinton on new technologies, took place.
October 2012
At the beginning of October, as part of an official visit to Ukraine, the IIR was visited by a delegation from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, consisting of representatives of the leadership of the Ministry of Planning and Investments. On behalf of the director of the Institute, the meeting with the guests was held by the deputy director for scientific work and international relations, Professor Oleksandr Mykolayovych Biryukov and the head of the "International Economic Relations" department, Professor Oleksandr Ivanovych Shnyrkov.
From October 1 to October 6, 2012, a delegation of the Institute of Foreign Service of Kenya, including the Director of the Institute, prof. Philip Mwanzia and the adviser of the Institute, Mr George Kwania to Kyiv. From October 2 to 4, the Kenyan delegation was at the Institute of International Relations, where they met with the Director, deputy directors for academic work and for scientific work and international relations, and heads of the "international relations", "international law" and "international economic relations" departments, where areas of possible cooperation were discussed. In addition to official events, the delegation visited the museum, library and reading room of the Institute, and attended the lectures of Assoc. Hnatovsky M.M. in international law (English program). Kenyans also visited the Diplomatic Academy during their stay in Kyiv.
On October 1 - 6, 2012, a delegation of the Institute of Foreign Service of Kenya, consisting of the Director of the Institute, prof. Philip Mwanzia and Institute Adviser, Mr George Kwania to the Institute of International Relations. The delegation arrives in Kyiv for negotiations with the Management of the Institute of International Relations regarding future cooperation.
On October 8, 2012, at the Institute of International Relations, the famous American consultant Robert McKee held a master class "The Art of Storytelling or a Story for a Million." The main topic of his speech was the concept of "storytelling" and its application in practice. During the conversation with the students of the Institute of International Studies, the guest emphasized the communicative component of the phenomenon of political leadership, and the peculiarities of manipulating human consciousness, and also spoke about the role of moral values and national heroes in the management of mass consciousness.
On October 8, 2012, interdepartmental scientific readings on the topic "Information analytics and communication technologies in the structure of modern international relations" were held, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the "International Information" department and the memory of the founder of the speciality V.P. Gondyula Representatives of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the National Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of Ukraine took an active part in the preparation and conducting of the readings. Among the invited participants was General Secretary of GUAM Chechelashvili V.K., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine A.I. Veselovskyi, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine O.O. Dykusarov, Deputy Head of PR Department of ESG company D.A. Murakhovskyi, V.F. Rybachenko, vice-president of the Association of Political Psychologists of Ukraine.
On October 16, 2012, Savita Pande, a professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (India, New Delhi) at the Institute of International Relations, gave a lecture on India's foreign policy. Students and teachers of the Institute, the Linguistic University, the Diplomatic Academy and all those interested in the history and politics of India were invited to the professor's speech.
On October 26, 2012, at noon, Oxford University professor and close friend of Stephen Hawking, Sir Roger Penrose, presented a lecture "Quantum Foundations of Thinking: Information Society and Humanitarian Aspects of Artificial Intelligence Problems" for students and teachers of the Institute of International Relations.
On October 30 at 12:40 in the meeting hall of the Academic Council, with the assistance of the Department of International Organizations and the Diplomatic Service of the Institute of International Relations, a round table "Development of a career in the field of diplomacy" was held with the participation of the Vice Consul of the Embassy of the United States of America in Ukraine Natella Svistunova.
From October 28 to 31, 2012, the director of the Institute of European Studies of the University of Brussels, doctor of legal sciences, and professor Marianne Dony, visited.
November 2012
On November 1, 2012, a large delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, led by Dr Farhad Rahbar, rector of the University of Tehran, a well-known economist and former vice president of the Republic, visited the Institute of International Relations.
On November 5, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., in the meeting hall of the Academic Council of the Institute of International Relations, a meeting was held with a member of the Italian Parliament and the president of the analytical centre "Fondazione FareFuturo", Mr Adolfo Urso, on the topic "Europe and Ukraine: the way to rapprochement".
On November 14, 2012, at 9:30 a.m., a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to Ukraine Mrs Berenice Rendon Talavera took place in the meeting hall of the Academic Council of the Institute of International Relations.
"Tolerance is the choice of Ukrainian youth" - under this slogan, on November 15, the already traditional competition of student projects "Rainbow of Countries" was held at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
On November 26, the Chairman of the Regulatory Committee of the Council of Europe, a member of the Lithuanian Parliament, a lecturer at Witold the Great University, a specialist in national and international security, as well as political problems in the territory of post-Soviet countries, successful diplomat Egidius Vareikis visited the Institute of International Relations.
December 2012
On December 4, a lecture by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chile to Ukraine (part-time) was held in the Meeting Hall of the Academic Council of the Institute of International Relations, dedicated to the main directions of Chile's foreign policy, in particular regarding the countries of Eastern Europe.
On December 4, the long-awaited premiere of Oscar Wilde's English-language charity play "An Ideal Husband" took place in the Great Assembly Hall of the IIR under the leadership of Valentina Viktorivna Daineko, head of the Department of Foreign Languages of the IIR.
On December 6, our Institute was visited by Mr Marius Yanukonis, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine. The Director of the Institute, Professor Valery Kopiyka, told Mr Yanukonis about the achievements of the Institute of International Relations in the academic field. Our distinguished guest appreciated the fact that the Institute can offer both Ukrainian and foreign students three English-language master's programs, which may be of interest to Lithuanian students whose scientific research is focused on the countries of Eastern and Central Europe.
On December 12, an important event took place at the Institute of International Relations - the "Mr Diplomat" competition. The honorary title of "Mr Diplomat" was won by Konstantin Rubel (5 MV).
On December 14, a trip to a hospital, two schools, and a kindergarten in the villages of Orlivka and Grabivka, Chernihiv region, took place as part of the IIR charity projects.
On December 18, 2012, at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Deputy Director of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Professor V.M. Matvienko ceremoniously presented certificates of advanced training in the field of European integration of Ukraine in the direction of "European integration: economy, politics, law" to a group of employees of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
