During the week, a group of Ukrainian international students visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, the Italian Institute of International Relations, the Embassy of Ukraine in Italy, Roma TRE University, the Italian Institute of Culture and the Embassy of Italy in Ukraine with work activities.
February 2016
On February 16, 2016, the graduation of master of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, who studied in English-language master's programs, took place.
On February 25, a meeting with James Butterwick and Guy Jennings "Art as an element of "soft power" took place at the Institute of International Studies. The event was attended by students, teachers, young artists and connoisseurs of the role of art in the state policy of the country. The discussion was held in English.
March 2016
Natalya Leonidivna Yakovenko, professor of the Department of International Organizations and Diplomatic Service, in March 2016 gave a course of lectures on "Diplomatic Protocol and Etiquette" for students of the English Department of the University of Wroclaw (Poland).
On March 30, at 12:40 p.m., the Institute of International Relations held an open lecture by Dmytro Yarovoi, head of the Department of Coordination of International Events and Communications of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, on the topic "Hybrid war against Ukraine and social media as a tool of hybrid war."
On March 30, 2016, students of the Institute talked with an extremely interesting person - the ex-Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. Pavlo Sheremeta gave a lecture - "Actual problems of the economy of Ukraine and their solutions" and answered numerous questions from the audience.
April 2016
On April 4, the finals of the grant competition under the Washington Business & Diplomacy Leadership Academy program from the Institute's partners, the American educational company Transnational Education Group (TEG), took place at the Institute of International Studies. The event was held with the support of the IIR Development Fund and the Taras Shevchenko Institute of International Relations of KNU.
On April 6, 2016, London-based collector James Butterwick, a recognized specialist in Ukrainian art in the West, visited the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University with a lecture on Oleksandr Bogomazov.
On April 12, 2016, the ecological and educational event "Take care of your garden" took place. It was held based at the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, or rather - in the garden named after Anatolia Moskalenko. He is one of the founders of the Ukrainian National School of Media Studies. The event is traditional and is taking place for the fifth year in a row.
From April 16 to 23, 2016, students of the II, III and V courses of the ME, KR, MB and MP specialities together with the teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Institute of International Relations N.O. Horodetskaya. took part in the educational program on European studies. Students visited institutions in Prague, Paris, Strasbourg and Nuremberg.
On April 18, the Institute of International Relations hosted a lecture by Deborah Nguyen, communications specialist of the UN World Food Program (WFP).
On April 18, at the Institute of International Relations, students met with the Minister of Land Protection of the Republic of Lithuania J.V. Mr Juozas Olekas.
On April 18, students had a unique opportunity to listen to James Butterwick's lecture on "Forgeries in avant-garde art and their impact on the reputation of states" at the Institute of International Studies.
On April 19, 2016, on the joint initiative of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, a presentation was held on the topic "Russian war crimes in the East of Ukraine in 2014", prepared by the deputy of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Malgorzata Gosiewska.
On April 22, 2016, the Department of Jean Monet and the Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv held a scientific and methodological conference "European Studies in Universities of Ukraine".
On April 25, 2016, students of the Institute of International Relations (Club of European Law) had an informative and educational visit to the EU Representation in Ukraine.
On April 28, the Institute of International Relations hosted a meeting of students with Andrew Rabens - Adviser to the President of the United States on Emergency Issues of Global Youth, who shared his personal experience of working in the diplomatic sphere and talked about the travels that influenced his worldview.
May 2016
On May 12, 2016, a staff conference was held at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, which discussed the issue of making a recommendation to the Academic Council of the University regarding candidates for the position of director of the Institute of International Studies. The rector of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Leonid Vasyliovych Hubersky, also took part in the conference.
On May 16, a meeting was held with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Latvia to Ukraine, Mr Juris Poikans.
On May 20, Volodymyr Aryev, People's Deputy of Ukraine, PACE Vice-President, and President of the PACE Committee on Culture, Education, Science and Media held a lecture on the topic "Growth of radicalism and populism in Europe and the impact of a new political segment on PACE" at the IMI on May 20. In the context of the topic, the political situation in different countries of the world was considered, and the main negatives and dangers of populism were identified. According to Mr Ariev, we should try to make our society educated, only in this case, we will be able to resist the main slogans of populists.
On May 21, IIR students took a charity trip to the orphanage "Prolisok" in the village of Vovchkiv and the home for the elderly in the village of Prybirsk.
On May 30, a meeting was held with representatives of Fairfield University, with Professor Catherine Nantz and Professor David Schmidt.
Ten graduates of the University, who came from Cuba, Nicaragua, Peru, Colombia and the Dominican Republic, visited their native walls with the aim of further cooperation and the creation of the Latin American Alumni Association. The guests told what they do after graduating from the Faculty of International Relations in 1988-1991. Most of them are professors of world universities, ambassadors and diplomats. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia is a graduate of the Faculty of Internal Affairs.
June 2016
On June 3, IMF Executive Director Menno Snell and World Bank Executive Director Frank Heimskerk met with students of the Institute of International Relations.
The final round of the International Judicial Debate on WTO Law took place from 7 to 12 June 2016 at the headquarters of the World Trade Organization (Geneva, Switzerland), where the world's 20 best teams from five continents competed. This year, the Taras Shevchenko KNU team was represented by Yi Zhang, Nadiya Mykievich and Maria Usatenko, students of the Master's Program in International Trade Regulation of the Institute of International Relations, as well as Alisa Ostrovska of the Faculty of Law.
July 2016
The Institute trained 349 bachelors, among whom 55 received a red diploma with honours, in such fields as international economic relations, international business, international law, international relations, and international information, and for the first time bachelor in country studies graduated. 239 masters received diplomas, among them many diplomas with honours.
Director of the Institute of International Relations Kopiyka Valery Volodymyrovych and the head of the territorial administration of justice of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine Kutsenko Stanislav Ihorovych signed the Memorandum on cooperation in the field of educational activities.
September 2016
With a score of 2:1, the national team of Ukraine defeated the national team of Morocco. The participants of the tournament were students from 15 countries of the world studying in educational institutions on the territory of Ukraine, reports the official website of the FFU. The team that won the "Friendship Cup-2016" will go to Portugal in April next year, where the second stage of this international tournament will take place and the football academy will operate.
October 2016
On October 11, 2016, within the walls of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Director of the Institute, Valery Kopiyka, and the Minister of Information Policy, Yuriy Stets, not only signed the Memorandum of Cooperation but also talked with the students of the Institute of International Studies - the Student Council under the Ministry of Information Policy, which has been operating since the spring of 2016.
On October 11, the Institute of International Relations held a round table on international criminal law, organized by the Department of International Law of the Institute. In a round table moderated by Associate Professor Mykola Hnatovskyi, Ukrainian international lawyers from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv and Odesa, as well as guests of the Institute, teachers of KIMEP University (Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan) discussed the issue of criminal responsibility of individuals for crimes against international law committed in connection with the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
November 2016
Well-established communication with citizens is extremely important for the reform process in Ukraine. Because society must understand the meaning and essence of the changes introduced by the government. Morten Enberg, head of the Office of the Council of Europe in Ukraine, told about this during a meeting with third-year students majoring in "international information" at the Institute of International Relations.
Global took part in the meeting, which was held at the initiative of the Legal Support Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Rights Compliance Wayne Jordash (Great Britain) and Scott Martin (USA), as well as leading Ukrainian lawyers from the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Oleksandr Zadorozhnyi and Mykola Hnatovskyi, who represent Ukraine on the global human rights arena.

The international conference "Study and research of international relations in Poland: experience for Ukraine" was held in Warsaw, which was held by the Institute of International Relations of the University of Warsaw. As part of the visit, several meetings were held - with the vice-rector for science and international cooperation of the University of Warsaw, the director of the Institute of International Relations of the University of Warsaw, representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland, expert analysts from well-known research institutions engaged in the study of Ukraine, representatives of the Warsaw School of Economics etc.
