International Scientific Symposium ‘Interdisciplinary Studies of International Economic Relations in the Context of Increasing Protectionism and Trade Wars’

On 26 September 2025, the International Scientific Symposium ‘Interdisciplinary Studies of International Economic Relations in the Context of Increasing Protectionism and Trade Wars’ will be held in the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations.
The Symposium is being organised by the Interdisciplinary Centre ‘Synthesis’ of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
The event will be held in a hybrid format. The working language is English.
Selected abstracts will be published in the Symposium proceedings by Cambridge Scholar Publishing.
The subject areas proposed for discussion are as follows:
- Protectionism (History, Theory and Policy);
- Tariffs and Stock Markets;
- Tariffs and Economic Development;
- Tariffs and the Cost of Living;
- Tariffs and Global Trade;
- Tariff Policy of Individual Countries and Regions;
- Tariffs and the WTO.
To participate in the Symposium, please send your abstracts in English of up to 3 A4 pages by 10 September 2025 to the email of the Organising Committee symposium.iir.synthesis.2025@gmail.com. Participants will receive a notification on the approval of the abstracts and the content of the programme of the Symposium by 20 September 2025.
Requirements for abstracts:
1. Abstract length – up to 3 A4 pages, excluding the list of references.
2. Alignment – justified.
3. Font: Times New Roman, size 14; line spacing – 1.5.
4. Margins – 2 cm on all sides.
5. Paragraph – 1.25 cm.
6. In the upper right corner of the page – the author’s surname and initials in italics; followed by an asterisk footnote ‘*’; at the bottom of the page, a note is made in Times New Roman font, size 10. The following is indicated:
First line – academic title, academic degree (if applicable); author status: student, PhD student, lecturer, etc.; year of study, specialisation, position, etc. (aligned by width);
second line – place of study, work;
third line (for students and PhD student) – scientific supervisor, their academic degree and position.
7. The title of the abstract is centred in bold font.
8. The list of references (no more than 10) is placed after the text of the abstract. References are listed in the order in which they are mentioned in the text. References in the text are enclosed in square brackets.
9. The minimum acceptable uniqueness of the work is 90%.
Abstracts that do not meet the requirements and are sent after the specified date will not be considered by the Organising Committee and will not be eligible to participate in the symposium.
