Professor of the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy Parkhomchuk O.S. published an article in the Ukrainian Historical Journal
The Ukrainian Historical Journal published an article by Parkhomchuk O.S. «In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Stanislav Parkhomchuk» in collaboration with the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to commemorate the Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Parkhomchuk S.M., a distinguished Ukrainian historian and diplomat, one of the first graduates of the faculty international relations of the Kiev University.
The figure of S.M. Parkhomchuk occupies a special place in Ukrainian historical science of the 20th century. Despite the ideological context that was mandatory at that time, his works were distinguished by a deep analysis of sources, extensive use of foreign materials and a desire for a comprehensive study of political processes. An important scientific event was the publication of the collective monograph “In the Struggle for the Elimination of Colonialism” edited by S.M. Parkhomchuk, for which in 1975 he was awarded the D.Z. Manuilsky Prize of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (he became the first laureate of this, the only academic award in the humanities at that time). In 1963-1965, Stanislav Maksimovich held the position of advisor to the European Department of the UN in Geneva. Stanislav Maksimovich became an inspiration and mentor for many young historians and internationalists. He educated a whole galaxy of researchers who continued his work. Among them were I.M. Khvorostyanyi, M.D. Nesuk, V.K. Gura and others.
