The round table "Ukraine in the negotiation process for joining the EU: challenges and prospects for the implementation of European legislation"

The round table on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Department of International Relations and Foreign Police on the topic: "Ukraine in the negotiation process for joining the EU: challenges and prospects for the implementation of European legislation", will be seeing the attendance of graduates and students of the IIR, former Ukrainian diplomats, representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, prominent representatives of the Ukrainian mass media and expert communities.

During the round table, there will be discussions and deliberations on the following topics:

  1. The state of negotiations and the general political situation in the EU on the eve of the elections to the European Parliament: An overview of the current state of negotiations and future steps to be initiated, political challenges facing the reform of the EU and the European Union's enlargement policy.
  2. Institutional readiness of Ukraine: Discussion on reforms necessary to improve the political and institutional structure of Ukraine in the context of the EU requirements.
  3. Economic challenges and perspectives: Analysis of the economic agenda brought about by eventual Ukraine's accession to the EU, including the necessity for reforms and as well as adaptation to the EU internal market.
  4. Implementation of the Plan for Ukraine within the framework of the Ukraine’s Facility: The main challenges to the implementation of the reforms envisaged by the Plan for Ukraine.
  5. The role of the EU and its member states in monitoring the implementation and allocation of funds under the Ukraine’s Facility.
