A series of lectures by Rinne Kullaa, Associate Professor at the University of Tampere (Finland)
On 14–15 October 2025, the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv hosted a series of lectures for bachelor's and master's students majoring in international law and international relations.
The lectures were given by Rinna Kullaa, Associate Professor at the University of Tampere (Finland). The researcher's academic interests focus on the processes of transformation from colonialism to the modern era, the consequences of the policies of great powers, and the history of diplomacy.
The topic of the lectures was "Finland's path to the European Union: lessons and experience for Ukraine."
During the lecture, the speaker revealed the historical, political and economic aspects of Finland's integration into the EU, and analysed the country's practices and experience that could be useful for Ukraine on its path to European Union membership.

"Contemporary geopolitical challenges in EU policy." Current issues of European security, the role of the EU in global politics, and the influence of external factors, particularly Russian policy, were discussed.
The event was an important step in deepening students' knowledge of the historical processes of European integration and analysing the current challenges facing the European Union and Ukraine, which determine the prospects for our country's membership in the EU.
