Workshop from the Director of the Department General for Public Diplomacy and Communications of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

On April 9, 2024, within the cooperation between the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, with the support of the Department of International Organizations and Diplomatic Service, and the Department of International Information, a meeting was held with Viktoria LIALINA-BOIKO, Acting Director of the Department General for Public Diplomacy and Communications of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, with the students of the 1st year study of the master’s Educational Program ‘International Communications’ (discipline ‘European communications’, lecturer – Nataliia PIPCHENKO, professor of the Department of International Information).

The workshop was full of useful and interesting material on the transformation of Ukraine’s public diplomacy under martial law. The speaker shared the successful experience of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in organizing and implementing communication campaigns #UkraineStreet, #StandWithUkraine, #BoycottRussianSport, #RussianLaunguageDay in Kahovka, #PatriotsSaveLives and others aimed at protecting and supporting the national interests of Ukraine during full-scale Russian aggression.

During the ‘Questions and Answers’ session, the participants discussed the specifics of using artificial intelligence tools to maintain the information and communication activities of the Department, the possibilities of expanding interaction with the local audience of important partner states of Ukraine, as well as the unique experience of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in updating and using public diplomacy tools under the wartime.
