The Winter School "The EU in International Economic Integration and Disintegration Processes" has started, which will be held from January 12 to 20, 2021.

 

February 2021

IIR students joined the "Month of Cultural Diplomacy of Ukraine" project, which was initiated by the Ukrainian Institute together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NGO "Wikimedia Ukraine".

 

Students of the "International Communications" educational program of the Institute of International Relations took part in the project under the leadership of Professor Natalia Pipchenko of the Department of International Information.

 

On February 23, 2021, a meeting was held between State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Serhiyovych Bankov and Director of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University Valery Volodymyrovych Kopiika.

 

On February 26, 2021, students of the 1st and 2nd years of the "International Communications" educational program joined an online meeting with the Deputy Head of the Interaction and Cooperation Department of the NATO Public Diplomacy Department, Peter Lunak.

 

March 2021

From March 6 to May 29, 2021, students of the IIR School of Young Ukrainian Diplomats Business School of the Institute of International Relations in partnership with the Ukrainian Foreign Policy Association had the opportunity to become participants in the online course.

 

On March 23, 2021, the Agreement on cooperation between the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University and the Academy of Foreign Intelligence of Ukraine in the educational and scientific spheres was signed.

 

The draft of the description of the educational and scientific program of the second (master's) level of higher education "Regional studies" speciality 291 "International relations, public communications and regional studies" has been published for public discussion.

 

In March 2021, the VII All-Ukrainian Competition of the " Scholarship in Ukraine" grant project started. The purpose of this project is to encourage and stimulate capable Ukrainian students to study promising areas of business, and to financially and morally support the development of Ukrainian youth.

 

April 2021

On April 8, 2021, the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Institute of International Relations and the Ukrainian Institute was signed.

 

On April 12-16, 2021, the Institute of International Relations hosted a guest, teacher Dr Ingu Zilinskiene from Mykolas Romeris University, Institute of Economics and Business.

 

On April 20, students of the 1st year of the "International Communications" educational program met in the usual online format with Ukrainian journalist, writer, publicist and poet Vasyl Zima.

 

On April 26, 2021, the presentation of the scientific guide "Cultural Diplomacy" took place.

 

May 2021

On May 12, 2021, an unprecedented event took place in the virtual space of the Institute of International Relations! Without a doubt, it was the meeting of the students of the Institute of Foreign Studies and the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Serhii Olegovich Kyslytsa, in the presence of a large number of diplomats from the mission.

 

On May 25, the world celebrates Africa Day! On this occasion, within the framework of the "African Seminar" - a permanent scientific project of the Department of International Regional Studies of the Taras Shevchenko Institute of International Relations of KNU, aimed at updating African studies in Ukraine and with the support of the "African Research Center" - an expert centre that unites researchers of the African continent in Ukraine and is the first Ukrainian-language information and research platform about Africa, the International Round Table "Dilemmas of the Modern Development of Africa: Ambitious Prospects and Objective Difficulties" took place.

 

On May 28, students in the 1st year of the educational program "International Communications" held a meeting regarding the future preparation for writing term papers.

 

June 2021

June 15, 2021, on the page of the OP "Environmental and energy security in international relations/ Environment and Energy Security in International Relations ", a draft of changes and additions was submitted for public discussion.

 

On June 17, the Institute of International Relations undoubtedly took several more steps in the direction of deepening cooperation with ASEAN member countries. At the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Ukraine, Nguyen Hoang Thanh, Director of the Institute Valery Volodymyrovych Kopiika, Deputy Director for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Anton Semenovych Nanavov, and Director of the ASEAN Research Center Yuliya Anatolyivna Tsirfa visited the Embassy of Vietnam and held a meeting negotiations regarding further cooperation of higher education institutions of this state with the Institute of International Relations.

 

On June 23, 2021, Director of Taras Shevchenko KNU Institute of International Relations Valerii Kopiika and Director of LLC "Financial Company LEOGAMING PAY" Alyona Shevtsova, as well as Chairman of the Board of PJSC "IBOX BANK" Petro Melnyk signed Memorandums of Cooperation in the field of professional training and employment of IIR students.

 

On June 25, 2021, the Draft description of the educational and professional program "Diplomacy and International Cooperation" was published on the OP "Diplomacy and International Cooperation" page for public discussion.

 

July 2021

On July 30, 2021, the director of the Institute of International Relations, Valerii Kopiika, had the opportunity to discuss the activities of the ASEAN Research Center. During the conversation, Volodymyr Bugrov congratulated the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and expressed his gratitude for the fruitful cooperation with the University, separately emphasizing the active participation of the Indonesian Embassy in the creation and preparation for the opening of the ASEAN Research Center at the Institute of Foreign Studies. The Rector thanked the Honorable Mr Ambassador for the desire to develop fruitful bilateral cooperation between KNU and leading institutions of higher education in Indonesia: "We already have the experience of studying Bahasa at the Institute of Philology and are proud that our graduates can help in the development of cooperation between Ukraine and Indonesia, contributing to the work Embassies During our work with you, we became convinced of the commitment of the Indonesian people to the University and Ukraine. We hope for the same active and fruitful cooperation with you in the future."

 

Director of the Institute of International Relations Valeri Kopiika took part in the celebrations dedicated to the celebration of the 54th ASEAN Day.


August 2021

On August 23, 2021, Kyiv hosted the largest international event since independence - the Crimean Platform.

 

The Center for Interactive Learning was opened at the Institute of International Relations on the initiative of Alyona Volodymyrivna Shevtsova, a graduate of the Institute of International Relations.

 

The meeting with the participation of rector Volodymyr Bugrov, vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work Andrii Hozhik and more than 20 editors of Ukrainian media was held at the initiative of teachers of the Institute of Journalism and the Institute of International Relations.

 

September 2021

On September 15, 2021, Kyiv National University joined the promotion of a unique project - business cards of Ukraine Legacy Ukraine - a series of books that tells the stories of famous Ukrainians who conquered the world.

 

October 2021

On October 8, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine and the United Nations Refugee Agency in Ukraine, together with the IMI, held a round table "The importance of humanitarian work and ideas of Fritjof Nansen for solving the biggest crisis of forced displacement of the population" dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the famous Norwegian researcher, scientist and the humanitarian Fritjof Nansen.

 

We are pleased to announce the signing of the Memorandum on Partnership and Cooperation with the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, which took place on October 13, 2021. The memorandum was signed in the person of Andrii Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board of UVEA, and Valeri Kopiika, Director of IIR.

 

On October 19, 2021, the Institute of International Relations held a solemn opening ceremony for the ASEAN Research Center.

 

On October 26, distinguished guests visited the Institute of International Relations: professor and international expert on organizational behaviour and human resource management, businessman, writer, and poet from the United Arab Emirates Talal Said Abdullah Al Juneibi, as well as the Ambassadors of the UAE, Egypt, Palestine, and Indonesia and a diplomat from Iraq.


November 2021

On November 5, 2021, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine and in support of the President's environmental initiative "Large-scale afforestation of Ukraine", Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University planted 30 velvet maples on the territory of its educational buildings on Glushkov Avenue.

 

On November 11, 2021, an online meeting with the students of the Institute of International Relations was held by the Consul of Ukraine in Montenegro Mykhailo Mykhailovych Shmatov.

 

On November 15, 2021, within the framework of the discipline "Protection of the Rights of Migrants, Foreigners, Refugees and Displaced Persons", students in the 2nd year of the master's degree of the "International Law" department, who study in the specialization "International Protection of Human Rights", took part in a master class in the format case studies.

 

On November 17, 2021, the online master class was conducted by Petro Mykolayovych Sinyavskyi, director of the Department for Foreigners and Stateless Persons of the State Migration Service of Ukraine. The Zoom meeting was open to all students at the Institute of International Relations. In addition, anyone could participate in watching the online broadcast of the event.

 

On November 18, 2021, an online meeting with English-speaking students was held by Andrii Pasichnyk, a graduate of the Institute of International Relations, who currently works in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine as the deputy director of the department - head of the international disputes department of the Department of International Law.

 

On November 24, 2021, an online lecture by Kateryna Busol, a graduate of the Institute, Doctor of Law, lawyer, and senior lecturer of the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" took place on the topic: "Prevention and overcoming impunity for conflict-related sexual violence: world experience and Ukraine".

 

On November 24, 2021, a closed master class was held for students in the first year of study of the English-language master's OP "International Litigation". As part of the "International Law in National Courts" course, Anna Yushchak, a graduate of the Institute of International Relations, and now a mediator and lawyer specializing in international private law, spoke in detail about the peculiarities of considering cases based on the (Hague) Convention on Civil Legal Aspects of International Kidnapping children by Ukrainian and foreign courts, as well as on the specifics of the execution of relevant court decisions.

 

On November 29, 2021, a master class of Doctor of Law, lawyer of NGO "La Strada-Ukraine" Yulia Viktorivna Anosova was held on the topic: "Application of international and European standards to combat human trafficking in Ukraine."

 

In November, Tornike Tevdoradze, together with his colleague Ivan Omelchenko, a student at the Institute of International Relations of the Master's program "Energy and Environmental Security in International Relations", visited Vinnytsia and Lviv on cultural visits.
