Knowledge of Military and Civil Communications

Recently, cadets of the Military Institute participated in a master class conducted by PR manager of BFK Gulliver, Katerina Shpachuk, as part of the "Reputation Management" course (lecturer – Assistant G.Yu.Khlistun, Department of MMKT).
Participants found it interesting and useful to listen and compare the specifics of communicative interaction in military and civil environments. This is important considering that during military actions or in the post-conflict resolution period, the military often has to communicate a lot with civilians in the context of crisis communications.
It was very interesting to learn about the projects already conducted by K. Shpachuk, a graduate of the "International Communications" program, and her department. In particular, Ms. Katerina's thesis that Gulliver engages stars for its events on a complimentary basis caused great surprise among the cadets. An important role in this is played by the positive reputation that the shopping and entertainment center constantly tries to improve.
K. Shpachuk emphasized that in the modern world, promoting events is impossible without social networks, hence the PR department is actively operating in the online space. Usually, representatives of her department or the director herself actively spread information about upcoming events to attract a larger audience.
Also, the master class included an open discussion about scandals related to the shopping and entertainment center. Detailed explanation on how important it is to resolve conflict situations, how they affect the image of the complex, and how the PR department deals with difficult situations is an important element of understanding such communications.
The meeting was held in an online format.
