Course Description

Comparative civil law
The subject of the "Comparative Civil Law" training course is theoretical and practical issues of regulation of the system of civil legal relations in Ukraine and in continental and common law states. The main task of the academic discipline is to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practice practical skills regarding sources, subjects of relevant legal relations, personal non-property law, property law, intellectual property law, obligation law, inheritance and family law, as well as practice skills and certain practical skills in solving civil legal disputes under the law of different states.

International private law
The subject of the training course "International private law" is the theoretical and practical issues of regulation of private law relations with a foreign element, in particular: conflict of laws, unification of material norms of private law, international civil process. The main task of the educational discipline is the development of practical abilities to use theoretical knowledge regarding the sources, subjects of relevant legal relations, international property law, international intellectual property law, international obligation law, international family and labor law, resolution of private law disputes with a foreign element.

Comparative Civil Procedure
The educational course is aimed at familiarizing students with the civil procedural law of Ukraine, the practice of its application, as well as with the procedure for conducting civil proceedings in some foreign countries. The task of the academic discipline is to provide knowledge about the fundamental institutions of civil procedural law of Ukraine and foreign countries; development of students' practical skills in analyzing and solving civil procedural issues.

Comparative law of securities
The main task of this educational discipline is to explain the main provisions of the current legislation of Ukraine and the existing standards for regulating the circulation of securities in Europe and the world. The educational discipline consists of two modules: the first is dedicated to the review of securities and other financial instruments as legal categories, and during the second module, students study the peculiarities of the circulation of negotiable instruments on the stock market.

Private legal practice
The training course is aimed at familiarizing students with the peculiarities of working as an independent lawyer for the benefit of the client. The main task of the educational discipline is the development of practical skills necessary for working as an independent lawyer or during the creation and operation of a private law firm.

Legal regulation of foreign economic activity
The training course provides students with the skills of developing projects of various types of foreign economic contracts. The task of the academic discipline is to develop the practical abilities of law students for further work at an enterprise or law firm with further specialization in the field of legal regulation of foreign economic activity.

Advocacy in Ukraine and in the legal systems of other countries
The educational course is aimed at familiarizing students with the peculiarities of the institute of advocacy in Ukraine, the USA, England, France, Germany and other countries. The goal of the academic discipline is to develop the practical skills of lawyers in order to prepare for admission to the bar and practical work as a lawyer.

International monetary law
The training course is aimed at revealing the concept of international currency law, its functions, principles, features and characteristic features. During the study of the discipline, international legal acts and the practice of their application by states and international organizations will be studied.

International commercial arbitration
The course is dedicated to familiarizing students with the concepts of arbitration agreement and arbitration clause, the procedure for resolving disputes by arbitration courts, types of arbitrations - institutional and ad hoc, procedures for arbitration proceedings and the procedure for recognizing and enforcing arbitration decisions. The main task of the academic discipline is the development of practical abilities to represent the interests of clients in international commercial and investment arbitrations, the skills of drafting relevant documents, understanding the procedures for choosing arbitration and arbitrators, involving witnesses and experts in the process, as well as the procedure for recognizing and enforcing arbitration decisions.

Transnational bankruptcies
The educational discipline "Transnational Bankruptcy" belongs to the list of selective disciplines for students of the "International Law" specialty at the "Master's" educational and qualification level of the educational program "International Private Law" and closely interacts with such disciplines as "Civil Law", "International Private Law" ” and “International Civil Procedure”.
The subject of the academic discipline is the study of the modern practice of applying conflicting, material and procedural norms of international private law in the consideration of cross-border bankruptcy cases.

Comparative and international equity law
The purpose of the educational discipline "Comparative and international joint-stock law" is to acquaint students with the main provisions of the legislation regulating the relations that are formed in the process of creation, operation and termination of joint-stock companies as subjects of private law. Also, within the scope of this educational discipline, the main issues of the shareholding law of a number of European countries are considered. In addition, the program provides for familiarization with general documents of the European Union, the Council of Europe, and the European Commission.

International industrial property law
The educational discipline is aimed at familiarizing students with the basic principles, doctrinal principles, definitions, legal categories and institutes of industrial property. Special attention is paid to the study of the protection of non-property and property rights of inventors, trademark owners, authors of industrial designs in basic international agreements. The discipline is aimed at familiarizing students with the system of international protection of industrial property both within the framework of the World Intellectual Property Organization and within the EU.

Out-of-court settlement of disputes
The educational discipline "Out-of-court settlement of disputes" is one of the components of the comprehensive training of masters in the "International Law" specialty of the "International Private Law" educational program.
The purpose of the academic discipline is to acquaint students with modern approaches to resolving legal disputes out of court and to study the theoretical and practical foundations and provisions of alternative dispute resolution methods. The course is adapted to the necessary extent to the needs of the relevant specialty, has a significant worldview and methodological load, introduces students to the peculiarities of out-of-court dispute settlement.

European private law
The discipline is aimed at familiarizing students with the theoretical foundations of the codification of private law in Europe, studying the processes of unification and harmonization of legal regulation of social relations within the EU, familiarizing students with the foundations of legal regulation of private-law relations within the European Union, with the main doctrinal concepts of European private law, study of the theoretical foundations of European private law, formation of practical skills in the application of acquired knowledge in the field of regulation of private-law relations within the EU.

International banking law
The educational discipline is aimed at deepening students' knowledge of civil and international private law and involves mastering the concepts and categories of banking law, the peculiarities of legal regulation of relations arising between its subjects. The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with special theoretical knowledge in the field of international legal regulation of banking operations, in particular, to master them with normative material - the current legislation of Ukraine, international treaties, examples from judicial practice.

International family law
The educational course is aimed at researching the main institutions of international family law, such as family, marriage, rights and obligations of spouses, other family members and relatives, adoption, etc. Students will study the specifics of conflict and material legal regulation of these institutes, and will research the main international legal acts in this area.

Law of international trade
The course is aimed at familiarizing students with the concept of an international sales contract, the obligations and responsibilities of the parties in an international sales contract, the concept of foreign economic activity, public order in the field of international trade, the procedure for consideration of foreign economic disputes by judicial bodies. The goal of the training course is to develop practical skills in concluding contracts for the international sale of goods, understanding the scope of rights and obligations of the parties in an international sales contract, and applying the norms of international contracts that regulate commercial activity.

International financial law
The course is designed to provide students with basic theoretical knowledge in the field of international financial law. The main task of the academic discipline is the development of practical skills in the analysis of the relevant legal institutions of international financial law, the assimilation of basic concepts in the field of legal regulation of international financial transactions, the mastery of normative material - the norms of international treaties, advisory acts, and the legal tools of the European Union in this field.

International civil process
The training course is dedicated to providing students with basic theoretical knowledge about the fundamental institutions of international civil procedure, as well as practical skills in working with the domestic legislation of Ukraine, bilateral and multilateral international treaties on civil procedure. In addition, students will receive systematic knowledge and practical skills related to the preparation and conduct of court proceedings on private law disputes in which there is a foreign element and which to one degree or another fall under the jurisdiction of two or more states.

Comparative competition law
The educational course is aimed at familiarizing students with the features of modern competition legislation of Ukraine and other countries, as well as the application of this legislation for the development of entrepreneurial activity and international trade. The main task of the educational discipline is the development of practical abilities of future lawyers in the use of competition legislation in the practical work of the enterprise and the provision of legal services by a private law firm.

International monetary law

Special attention is paid to the legal regulation of international currency relations, namely the study of international legal acts and the practice of their application by states and international organizations.

International copyright
The course is aimed at studying the concept and principles of international copyright and related rights, the history of the formation of international protection of copyright and related rights in developed and developing countries. In addition, the main sources of this protection (the most important international treaties on copyright and related rights) are analyzed in detail.
