Presentation of the jubilee 25th issue of the scientific yearbook ‘Ukraine Diplomatic’ on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Institute of History

On 24 October 2024, the Educational and Research Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv hosted a presentation of the 25th edition of the Diplomatic Ukraine Yearbook in honour of the 80th anniversary of the Institute. The yearbook was founded in 2000 by the Directorate General for Servicing Foreign Missions, the author of the idea and founder of the project is Anatoliy Denysenko, who made an invaluable contribution by publishing 20 issues of ‘Ukraine Diplomatic’.

The event was moderated by Valerii Kopiika, Director of the Institute of History, who was also present: ‘We continue to work, remember our school, remember our roots in order to rebuild the country.’

The event began with the commemoration of people who contributed to the development of the Institute and people who contributed to the ‘Ukraine Diplomatic’ yearbook, as well as greetings from the invited guests, including: Volodymyr Buhrov, Pavlo Kryvonos, Serhiy Pirozhkov, Leonid Huberskyi, and other distinguished guests, who spoke about the success of the academic yearbook over the years and the success to be achieved in the future.

The significant event was attended by students and teachers of the Institute, heads of departments, associate professors, scientists, as well as the Honourable Ambassadors of Pakistan, Indonesia, Azeibarjan, the Sovereign Order of Malta, the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic, former foreign ministers and alumni of the Institute.

Anastasia Moskalenko, a second-year master's student, also took the floor at the presentation. On behalf of all students, she congratulated her alma mater on achieving a new historical breakthrough: ‘Ukraine is now at a point in history when we are shaping events that will further influence the formation of the future system of international relations. History is being written here. Teachers and graduates are the creators of this history and the inspirers of the new world order. When you join the student and, in the future, the professional community, you realise that the Institute of International Relations is forever.’

The students of the Institute noted that this project is very valuable, especially for young people who will create modern history in the future. It was also important that the students had the opportunity to communicate with respected representatives of diplomacy, and this experience inspires them to make new achievements in the field of diplomacy.
